Q: SC & MC especially high growth tech cos with no profit have been hammered recently, Today even the big techs were attacked. Now that the Fed stated that it will increase tapering of monthly purchase & rate hike(s) likely sooner than later. Uncertainity is cleared up for now. So is it time to sell the high growth stocks with no profit like my aforementioned holdings. Would appreciate u views on each of them. All in the non registered a/c so can be tax loss selling to offset capital gains. Txs for u usual great services & views.

Q: Thanks for your excellent work. I've recommended your service to friends and you now have made new clients.

Why is ENGH hated so much ? It's in a downtrend for more than 18 months now and I thought that they would find a near term bottom here with the last quarterly earnings report.

Let's recap, investors hate high growth high valuation stocks. Investors also dislike slow growth and decent PE. Where do you see fit ENGH ? I thought we would see the end of the death spiral with this earnings report. Nope, so I guess we are now just a few believers like me and the founder of course holding the bag.

Q: Please list around 5 TECH stocks that you like in US or CAD that are not 'expensive' when compared to the high fliers with little to no earnings. Please exclude the FB, GOOG, APPL, AMZN, NVDA and MSFT.
Thank you.

Q: Hi Team,
You had mentioned the expectation of potential "small cap bounce" scenerio in January. Does this usually happen within the first couple weeks in January or what's the history on that? Also, if one was to use some "lottery ticket" money to buy some call options on a high beta name due for a bounce...would AT (acuity ads) be one to look at with options expiry Jan.21? I realize this is not a typical strategy, more of a casino night play. If you don't like this move, do you have any other call options strategies you are spotting right now that if they work out would yield some big gains? If so please list the precise call option contract. Again, I know options are not usually discussed here or endorsed. Thanks

Shane.

Q: Hi 5i,
In your opinion is LSPD a falling knife that will gravely wound me if I catch it now and hold on for a couple of years and, if so, how much closer to the floor should one let it get before grabbing on? I guess, my question really is - if LSPD is not there now where is that floor, do you think?
Thanks for your thoughts.
Peter

Q: I have a feeling there are still people selling LSPD now for the tax loss, meaning to buy it back in 30 days. It might work out for them but selling it now means having to wait until the middle of January to buy it back. I think the bounce will happen sooner than that and the people who really make the gain are the buyers picking it up at fire-sale prices right now? What do you think?

Q: Hello 5I.
I have a pretty well balanced portfolio and am currently a little overweight tech. That said I am torn on weather to take a loss on $Sq and buy something like $CRWD or $Apps as I want to keep the growth tech. I am down 20%. The tax write off is a small help but not the decision maker. With that is mind do you think $sq has more upside vs the other 2 listed? Would you recommend I just stay the course with $SQ?
Thanks

Q: You probably have a lot of people who are shareholders spooked by the recent drop in TOI. I know you've all mentioned that TOI is for the long term and have also recommended it at the highs and also in the recent dip -- but it's also true that it's "losing momentum" even if it is a little bit. At what point should we be concerned that this is a prolonged resetting of the market expectations?

Q: Hello,

I am down about 60% on NVEI which I hold in a non-registered account. Would it make sense to sell for tax loss purposes? If yes, what stock would you suggest I invest the sale proceeds in, in the event there is a bounce in the market in January? I have a 3-5 year time horizon.

Thank you
