Q: I read your recent response on Gib.a and it surely is a laggard at the moment. Thoughts on +/- switch to MSFT?

Q: Retired dividend-income investor. I hold CDZ for the long term and currently have a 75% position, topping up regularly to achieve a full position by year end. When originally purchased the yield was in the range of 5.4%, now it is 3.7% due to some of the constituent dividends being suspended. I believe CDZ is reconstituted annually. When this happens, what will happen with the dividend? With the potential changes to the underlying securities, will the CDZ methodology cause the dividend to increase somewhat?
I am "ok" with the current dividend. I am just wondering if I will get a bit of a bonus when the ETF is reconstituted?
Thanks for your help...Steve

Q: The announcement they made yesterday regarding a reverse split, then a re-split is something I have never seen before. I don't hold the stock, but was curious as to what you think of this move.
Q: Hi guys : could you give me your opinion on the above stocks Thanks Gary
Q: What do you think if this company. If memory serves me well you had mentioned it as potential high flyer, notwithstanding it’s high risk profile.
Would you add new funds to it today?
Thanks

Q: Good morning, I understand that GRN.warrants allow one to buy 1 share of GRN until June 2021 at the discounted price of 26 cents, GRN is currently trading at around 40cents . Can you explain how this works, is there a minimum holding period, it seems like such a no brainer if there are no restrictions. I must be missing something. Many thanks

Vanguard Balanced ETF Portfolio (VBAL)
-
iShares Core Balanced ETF Portfolio (XBAL)
-
BMO Balanced ETF (ZBAL)
Q: Hi,
Thank you for your straight forward answer to Paul's question to-day. (September 01) I presume that even though you mentioned XBAL as your pick, you wouldn't mind including VBAL/ZBAL in that space. Very similar aren't they?
IF one wants to augment this, to get steady stream of dividend income, should one add higher dividend paying ETFs like DGRC or VDY or XDV etc., More to keen to know your thoughts about enhanced indexing. How should one go about it?
Thanks.

Q: Would you comment on the potential of the America ETF IZRL, which invests in Israeli technology companies, in light of the possible normalization of relations between Saudi Arabia and Israeli and therefore the flow of investment funds into Israel?
Q: Your thoughts on Makara Mining please.Thanks.
Q: As the demand for electric vehicles inevitably grows over the coming years the demand for certain metals will stretch the supply from current mines. Given how long it normally takes years to get new mines approved and operational I suspect that there are some mining companies with existing assets could be well placed to take advantage of this probable market gap. Do you have any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.

Q: BNS is currently in the dog house but do you see this as a decent entry point for a 1-3 year hold? Yield remains strong and it seems mgmt will be able to navigate through Covid.
Q: Are the two new board members significant. If so does it possibly mean their first ever BLA is probably a go.
Thanks Steve
Thanks Steve

Air Canada Voting and Variable Voting Shares (AC)
-
Real Matters Inc. (REAL)
-
WELL Health Technologies Corp. (WELL)
-
Lightspeed Commerce Inc. Subordinate Voting Shares (LSPD)
Q: After buying a majority stake in Circle Medical, do you still suggest to buy more for WELL, since the stock already increased over 20% today. The reason I asked because I am thinking to sell AC and buy more WELL, so far I owned 33% for AC:CA, 33% for LSPD:CA, 17% for WELL:CA, 17% for REAL:CA.
Q: Is withdrawal from a tfsa limited in amount? Thanks ruth

Q: You had been recommending KXS previously; however, I have noticed that you are recommending CSU, SHOP and DGS lately among the Canadian IT companies. Is KXS still a buy and how do you rank KXS, CSU. SHOP, ENGH and DGS? Thank you.
Q: I have both GOOG and GOOGL . I used to see the voting stock GOOGL trade above the non-voting GOOG. Lately however prices have reversed . This morning for example the voting shares are some $7 BELOW the non-voting class. This strikes one as odd, notwithstanding that votes have little meaning in companies where founders have controlling blocks. Has something changed in the definitions of the Classes? I did not see anything in the financial journals.
Q: Peter, Ryan and gang: a couple of weeks ago AYX took a dive and currently is trying slowly to regain its former price levels. What are your thoughts, hang in there or move on?
If your advice is move on, could you suggest two or three US stocks, maybe “cloud “ or “i t “ . I have a good risk tolerance and await your reply
John

WPT Industrial Real Estate Investment Trust (WIR.U)
-
Dream Industrial Real Estate Investment Trust (DIR.UN)
-
Cencora Inc. (COR)
-
Americold Realty Trust Inc. (COLD)
Q: I bought DIR.un and WIR.un , the industrial REITs based partly on NAV, FFO, and dividend growth and because I had hardly any Canadian investments. However , on the said REITs , perhaps my calculations were incorrect. Both are down significantly notwithstanding that eCommerce has grown rapidly. I also have COR and COLD on close watch. I expected industrial warehouses and logistics to have a reasonably good growth trajectory. Do you think that growth in this type of company will be flat for the next year or two? To what would you attribute the weakness evident in the valuation of these companies that should, one would think, behave very differently from , say apartment REITs? Would you favor COLD or COR over the Canadian-listed ones and if yes, your reasons other those obvious in financial metrics?
