Q: Hello Peter, I know you like all three of these companies. My RRSP and TFSA are already well-diversified. On top of that, I'm now trying to build a non-registered account for long-term holdings (mostly solid, 'steady Eddy's' such as ATD, ENB, T, FTS). I'd like to add 2 full positions to the account. Which two of CSU, WSP and CGX would you suggest adding at this point for long-term gains, factoring in a 'sleep at night' element. (No concern over dividend rates.) Thanks for the continually excellent service! James

Q: I would like to add one infrastructure company to my portfolio (I have none) which one of the above specified companies do you prefer, or do you have another suggestion?
I like the WSP's dividend, but I like to see some growth as well. Which one of these companies will give me the highest total return? i.e dividend plus share appreciation.
Thanks in advance,
Jacob

Q: I have some Stella Jones at a 30% profit. I would like to sell and invest in wsp for a 2 to 3 year hold. Given the recent weakness and outlook for Stella Jones woould you recommend this strategy for future growth and stability? Thanx.

Q: I am a retired, conservative, dividend-income investor that is, for the most part, fully invested and normally employ a buy-and-hold style. I trim-and-add around my target position allocations.
I normally don't "market time", but am aware of the market decline predicted post-inauguration and "reversion to the mean" with stocks who get too far ahead of themselves. With that as the backdrop, is it reasonable for the following:
1. ABT = can I pick it up for < $6.40?
2. NWC = can I pick it up for < $27.50?
3. SLF = can I pick it up for < sub-$50.00?
4. WSP = can I add to it for < $43.00?
I know this sounds like market timing, but I've only got a small amount of cash and I'm willing to wait for one or more of these to come back to me. Thanks for your help...Steve

Q: Your response to Brian on Dec 15 included the following comment: "if you own 85% of your portfolio in high dividend stocks, then this is more of a concern".
I am a retired, conservative, dividend-income investor, with a pension, CPP, annuities, the above listed stocks and 3 income producing MFs (RBC Cdn Equity Income, Sentry Cdn Income, Sentry Global REIT).
I fit the 85% easily. I believe my portfolio is diversified by sector and by security. I also believe the securities have, for the most part, sustainable and growing dividends. I am a "buy-and-hold investor with reasonable tolerance for volatility.
Your comments and concerns please, along with any recommended improvements. Thanks...Steve

Q: I manage my husband's and my TFSA's as if they are one account so we do not duplicate the stocks in the 2 accounts and can have a reasonable size of position. We have a similar weighting of ALA, REI.UN, SIA, WSP, ZEB, BEP.UN, CGX, and HR.UN and PKI, and a double weighting of CPD and CDZ. We currently have about $110K in the two accounts and $20K of that is in cash. Can you suggest what we might add to or change in the above list, considering that we prefer income paying securities with some growth prospects and want the TFSA's to act independently of our other investments as a relatively conservative growth vehicle.
Q: Could you please provide me with some names of the best "Dividend Paying" stocks for a non registered account. Thanks Valter

Q: If we believe all we are hearing there could be a lot of government spending on Infrostructure both in Canada and the US. With this in mind how would you rate the above companies for growth in the next 2 - 3 yrs? Which would be benefitting most from US expenditure? Any others you would prefer?
(If this is more than one question - OK) I always appreciate your good advice. Thks.

Q: Hello 5i Team!
With STN and WSP recent quarterly results in which company stands to benefit most with the planned future infrastructure spend in the US? I know that both companies are liked by 5i, however, which company has the current edge for a long term investment for capital appreciation? I held Stantec in the past and moved to WSP on your previous recommendations in the Balanced Portfolio.
As always, thanks for the great service!
Angelo
