Q: In several of your responses you have stated that "BN will be more growth oriented, BAM more income-oriented. " You also state "We like BAM at the current price, with an attractive and secure dividend." However, TD Webbroker shows BAM with no dividend whereas BN shows a yield of 1.77%. Am I missing something here? Thank you.

Q: Hi Peter and Staff

Add me to the list of dazed and confused .

I thought the new spin out was BAM , will distribute 90% of earnings from “asset management” and be “asset light”

How can their significant holdings in BIP and BEP be under BAM?

What does BN own ? Looking forward to that report you are working on .

Thanks for all you do
Dennis

Q: Hello Peter,
I know you may not provide 100 percent guarantee on this answer but am now getting worried. I am not very impressed at our investment managers (when reading news papers or watching BNN) as it seems not many are doing proper research.. For example, AQN was a go to stock but all of a sudden with bad results, everyone is bailing out.. it was obvious that with high rates, utilities would be hit ; why is this a big surprise now and most managers are bailing out.. xbc wow what a stock to buy ; all of a sudden it is bankrupt.. With BAM and BN, BIP, i am not worried about the stock price. I think the leadership is smart but i am worried about potential accounting issues. I know you have said that the issue has been brought up before, but in your opinion, is it something to be concerned about in terms of reducing 5 percent weights. I would hate the shoe to drop again.. if you owned the companies in Brookfield, would you be worried about accounting issues? Since you are not pushing the stock purchases, i am thinking your answer is more objective.. Please advise.

Q: I hold shares in BN, BAM, BIPC and BEPC. I am now underwater with BIPC, which I have held for its generous dividend. Given BN seems to be struggling even more than BIPC for shareholder love, would you suggest selling BIPC for a small tax loss and replacing it with BN? Looking for a 3% dividend with some growth. Thank you.

Q: Sell or hold BAM after the spin off. If Sell just dump back into BN or move to another name?

Bonus question since I have lots to burm.... I assume the spin off value becomes a taxable event? BN has the same share number and book as my original BAM.A shares and the shares of new BAM.CDN granted would be a capital gain for 2022 at their book value?

Q: Would you please provide me with 6 US and 6 CDN stocks that have gone down in price but their value, debt and upside don't justify the downward stock price. Some with big upside potential.

Thanks and Happy Holiday Season to you and all staff.

Q: BAM, what is going on? down again big today? I bought down at 42$ and am now down over 10% in a few days? what have you missed? is there fraud at work somewhere? also, do you know why BNN website has a value for BAM on thurs. dec 1, 2022 of 37.32- 44.5$, which seems to include after hours trades ( in Canada, I have never seen after hours trades in Canada? do they exist, where does an investor see these?) , when the new equity did not start trading until 12/12/2022? was Brookfield trying to dump BAM? this makes no sense, and is not explained by broader market actions. do you have any guess as to whether this is a hold, sell, or buy now?

Q: well, call me 'a bit more nervous than usual...."

all brookfield companies are falling without 'real' reason

seems like more than just market noise

could it be, and fully understanding mr flatt is seen as the 'great compounder', that finally their obtuse/aggressive accounting on all entities is finally catching up with them?

you know, the tide is going out and we'll see who is swimming naked

thx

Q: On December 10, 2022 the value of my BAM.A shares was $71,000. On December 17, 2022 the market value of BAM was $11,173.00 and the market value of BN was $53,546 for a total of $64,719, a loss of approximately 9%. Did the value of Brookfield actually drop 9% in one week? If you have an explanation it would be appreciated. Thank You.

Q: From Disnat website:

Changes to the U.S. Taxation of Publicly traded partnerships (PTP)
starting January 1st, 2023 (Internal Revenue Code section 1446).
New US regulations taking effect on January 1, 2023, will result in new withholding taxes for sales of publicly traded partnerships by non-US account holders.
Once these rules take effect in 2023, when a non-US national sells an interest in a publicly traded partnership, 10% of the gross proceeds of the sale will be withheld. The withholding taxes will be remitted to the US Treasury, and the non-US national will be responsible for filing a US income tax return and claiming any potential refund of the amount withheld.

Will BAM be affected by this knew legislation?
Thank you.
