Q: I'm thinking of taking some positions in base metals companies. I'm especially interested in copper plays as it seems to be needed to support the drive to electrification. Do you think this is and opportune time to initate positions? In any case, I would appreciate it if you would share some of your favorite companies in this sector and it would help if you would present them in order of most upside to least going forward. I'm open to metals. other than copper as well.
Q: Hello Gentlemen
I am quite bullish on gold over the next while. I own AEM which is up 23 % KRR which is up 38% and KNT which, believe it or not is down 5%.
My question is should I continue to hold KNT which has proven to be a real laggard in the space and whose price is down over the past year despite the metal surging.
If you think I should hold on to it please tell me why. If you think there are better options with better upside please let me know in priority of how strong you feel.
Thanks
Sheldon

Q: Hi 5i
I would like to replace AEM in my LIF account with another basic material holding. My goal is growth. Both NTR and WFG are looking interesting now. Could you give your opinion of which would likely be the better play for a long term. With the pending slow down/recession would you switch now or wait?
Thanks

Please take as many credits as you consider appropriate.

Thanks for your great advise.
Q: Hello 5i team,
I was wondering if you are still keen on adding to an AEM position (the price is close to where I entered)?
It looks like the US fed is more hawkish on raising the rates in the next year or two which will consequently force CAN to raise their rates (usually 90% in lock step).
You mentioned in another question that you may get out of AEM to enter another gold play to remain in the sector at some point. Which companies do you have your eye on? Is not AEM safer geography wise?
Thank You,
Andrew

Q: Thanks for answereing my question on AEM. I share your negativity towards this report.
Do you still like gold representation in the portfolio given whats happening to interest rates, the US $ etc.
If yes, what would you replace AEM with in the portfolio. My intent will be to sell it today.
Thanks
Sheldon

Q: Hi - I am wondering if you think the move higher in gold has exhausted itself? If not, would you prefer AEM over FNV (or vice versa)...or would you favour a bullion ETF like GLD
Q: I know AEM is one of the most frequently mentioned gold stocks when 5i is asked for a gold stock recommendation. Since October the price of gold has essentially been a straight line up and to the right. I see no insider buying at AEM. What are we missing? They seem to be a non performer!
