Q: I have a small holding in Veolia and am wondering about adding more. Its environmental business is broad in scope and covers a lot of the planet. While this may be good, it could also mean that they are stretched. It looks like they have held pretty steady through the pandemic.

Any thoughts about this company? Any alternatives to suggest?

Thanks
V

Q: Hello Peter,
I have several 'half positions' in my TFSA and new cash to top up a few. While I know these are very different companies (APR.UN, AVLR, EGLX, PHO, XBC, FVI and ENGH), if you were investing with a 5 year time frame and had a 7 or 8 out of 10 comfort level with risk, in what order would you top these up, with the goal of best total return (not necessarily 'home runs'). Thanks in advance!

Q: Hello,
I have new money to allocate. Which ones of these are your favorites for 5 year + hold notwithstanding they have different risk profile and in different sectors (best overall risk / reward. I am underweight small cap). I already own KXS and ENGH but i could add to existing positions. Thank you!

Q: Hi Peter,

Please recommend a basket of small caps (7-8 names) that are looking attractive today. Long term growth, medium to high risk. Would you initiate new positions in any of the noted names?

Thanks in advance.

Q: I had been waiting for awhile for xbc to correct before taking a position. Got tired of waiting and watching it continually climb. Took a small position at $10.60ish and of course now I am seeing the correction I was waiting for. I added a bit more at $9.03 but now it’s down almost another $1.00.
Is there any news accounting for this?
Is your longer term thesis still positive?
Would now be a good time to add a bit more or is there more downside to come?
My overall position is still quite small relative to my whole portfolio and its in my TFSA and I don’t need the money.

Q: Good Morning Peter & team

XBC down almost 30% in the past month and just under 10% on the day today Feb 23. To be fair it is a down day for the markets in general - nothing goes straight up. However, the recent trend is alarming.

Anything you have seen which would account for recent losses? And I imagine your view of XBC hasn't changed?

Thanks for all you do

Q: Doing a little research for additions to my TFSA. Looking at GSY, WELL and XBC. I find it curious that GSY has a market cap for approx. $1.9 billion and trades at $125 per share, while the other two have market caps of approx. $1.4 billion and trade at sub $10. Is this a lesson in the difference between a Company growing organically vs growing through acquisitions and issuing large amounts of stock. I'm not saying that the other 2 aren't good companies, but I find it curious that they have similar market caps, yet their share price is ten times higher. Thoughts?

Thank you,
Jason

Looking for about 5 Canadian growth names to add to my TFSA. What would you recommend right now?

Thanks,
Jason

Q: Hello

Our US holdings are up 36.25%, where as our Canadian holdings are only up 17.22%.
The five mentioned above are our only real shining stars at this point.
Is one better to have all US holdings and forget Canada?
Thank you
Mike

Q: For New money to initiate positions which 5 stocks in each of the portfolios would you recommend investing. On a related note, is there a reason you don’t put buy or hold or buy up to prices in any of the portfolios, or is your stance if it is in there it is a buy regardless of how much a stock may have run up since it was originally recommended.

Q: Hi Team,
I'd like to start positions in an aggressive growth portfolio in the artificial intelligence, genomics, renewable energy (and EV) sectors (2-3 positions per sector). Holding time 2-5 years.
Also considering Bionano Genomics (BNGO).
1. Please rank the sectors for expected growth. Are there any others I should consider? Are they already overbought/overpriced?
2. Please rank the stocks in each sector for expected growth. Are there any others I should consider?
Thanks!

Q: Hi, I'm looking for a solid growth company to invest in with the environmental theme. There are recent questions on this that have been helpful but valuations are shifting fast. Could you suggest some options that look good today, taking into account current prices?

For example, I was reading your helpful report on Xebec from December, and note the pencilled-in 5-year return is nearly achieved already (presumably due to ongoing ESG mania): "Using multiples of 3.5x sales and 28x EBITDA (still much lower than current multiples), we see room for potential upside of 50%+ over a five-year period. Certainly there are risks to owning shares in the short-term, but we see plenty of upside potential for long-term investors. "
