Q: Dear Peter et al:
A "Drill down" from the top type of a question!
In Energy sector, these three things seem to be important.
a. Pay down debt.
b. Keep paying healthy dividend or even increase it.
c. Buy back shares.
Recently Cole Smead came on a podcast and clearly laid out his case for his preference to invest in companies that buy back shares. (In the Money by Amber Kanwar, erstwhile BNN Bloomberg Marketcall host).
What is your take on this? What are the 3 companies in the Energy sector that you like using Share buy backs as the metric?
Thanks in advacnce.
P.S. Hope we see you Peter on Amber Kanwar's In the Money podcast. It seems to be getting some traction now.

Q: As we are not investing gurus, we often have difficulty understanding company reports. Could the 5i team suggest 5 impotant metrics to look for in company reports, both quarterly and annually. Perhaps this could be one of Peter's columns in the media. If this has been addressed previously, please advise.
Thank you,
Pat & Cyril

Q: I am considering adding an ETF that provides coverage of assorted/balanced commodities. I would appreciate having some names that you would recommend; Canadian or USA. What is your opinion of adding a position as an uncorrelated asset to balance an all equity portfolio. I hold diversified energy holdings already (pipelines and producing companies in both oil and gas). I also hold mining stocks, RIO and AEM.
Q: Your views please ? Would you be a buyer ? Entry price ?
