Q: Can you please describe how you approach "swaps" in a portfolio? By that I mean swapping out one company for a very similar company in the same industry. You did this somewhat recently in removing Sun Life from the BE portfolio for Intact. (In that case I recall it was due to a better growth profile.)

My general sense is you have liked CNQ better than SU for a while now, for example. And TD better than BNS. Feel free to correct if this is not how you see it.

Appreciate there is a benefit to a certain amount of stability in the portfolio, so you won't bouncing stocks out every time the wind changes. But I'd interested in your thoughts on how you think of this aspect of portfolio construction. For example, in what circumstances might precipitate a swap in these or other cases? When would you hold still even if you like an alternative stock slightly better?

As a previous Enerplus shareholder I still unfortunately hold Chord Energy with some disappointing losses. Can you please give your thoughts on this company and would you still consider it a hold?

My portfolio does not have any meaningful allocation in the basic materials sector. Given the recent drop in equities (and possible future declines) was looking to add some resource stocks. CS and TECK.B in the copper sector looked interesting with the data centre/ chip boom underway.

What are your thoughts on these companies and is there a preference? What would you consider to be a good entry price in the potential market dips to come?

Would also appreciate any other resource stock ideas you might have in this current market.(Aside from Nutrien I know your a fan of and I already own.)

I'm not averse to risk and looking to hold at least 5+ years.

Q: For the past few years I've kept positions in CNQ, TVE and IPCO but I've recently been slowly reducing my positions in TVE and IPCO (and using the proceeds to add to CNQ). Last week I sold my remaining shares of IPCO, so I only have CNQ and TVE left for E&P exposure (although I have a few other positions in services companies such as PSI and PSD).

I'm debating selling the rest of my TVE shares to consolidate my E&P exposure into CNQ. What are your thoughts?

Q: With the pull-back, I want to take positions in the above at an appropriate weighting for a long term hold - the Canadian holdings and NVDA at full position, the others at 2-3%. I've owned DHT.UN in the past and did quite well - all before that little management fiasco. I sense the company may have completed a turnaround and be coming out of the penalty box now. I'm considering (re)adding it to my TFSA.
To help with the decision I'd appreciate your analysis of the quarter and year end results that were just released, along with any other comment you might have.

If it's not too much to ask could you give me the most accurate yield that you possibly can on the above stated ETF's . It's very frustrating obtaining this information acurrately as different web sites give different numbers . If you were to rely on just one non prescription website what would that website be to obtain reasonably accurate yield information ? I'm sure you get tired of being asked this question on a fairly regular basis .
If you have other suggestion on similar like ETF's i would be all ears .
I also assume that all these ETF's are quite safe and that no more than 100K should be put into any one of them .

Q: Just wanted to mention to you that in your answer to Donald today regarding TOU, you indicated they declared a special dividend of 50 cents, but the actual special distribution declared was 35 cents. The regular distribution was increased to 50 cents.

They basically flip-flopped the 2 dividends. Previous quarter, the special was 50 cents, and the regular was 35 cents.
