Q: I was very surprised to read your answer to a question from Dennis on September 28th and I’m looking for an explanation as I hold BNS in all my accounts and have always considered it one of Canada’s top blue chip companies that has been paying a dividend for over 100 years. You ranked BNS second from last in dividend sustainability behind high debt, high payout ratio, low growth companies like BCE, T and ENB. Thanks.

Q: On Sept 7 Dave asked a currency question and your response was: ‘ The US economy does seem stronger, and we think the US dollar will outperform. Also, when investors get scared, and move to a 'risk off' mentality, they move to the US dollar for safety. Generally, we don't spend much time predicting currencies.’
We’ve recently come into some US dollars and are hoping you could provide some direction for us despite your reluctance to speculate. Brian Ackers’ prediction on BNN this week is the Canadian dollar will fall dramatically to 68 cents. We’re not interested in perfect timing but would like to convert some of it within the next 3-6 months. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
With XLB hitting a new 52 week low, should I continue to take a long term view that yields will eventually be lower? I took a position in January and not sure weather to add, sell or hold. I have a 4% position with the reminder in the balanced portfolio and cash.
Q: 40-70% losses on paper on these 4 Cies ,2 are now under book value and one is getting close,I wonder if there is a limit on the downside. At this level I am ready to wait for some kind of recovery..Would a "switch" between these stocks or even a sell would be to consider at this level ?I know that predictions are impossible, but your impressions are always appreciated..
Q: Hi 5i,
May I please have your insight into the deal between Lululemon and Peloton?
Do you see it as good/bad/indifferent?
Is it better for one company more than the other or is it equal?
Thanks!!

See last questions above. Unfortunately you did not answer the question about going all in or wait for markets to settle ...thanks again for your help
Q: Why does Brookfield spin out subsidiaries rather than keep 100% of their businesses within the parent company like Berkshire? How does the BN approach create greater shareholder value compared to having just one company with all of its bits under one roof?
Q: Several analysts during the last couple of weeks recommended on BNN either sell or don't buy TRP.
Can you please comment whether, in your opinion, TRP is a hold or sell ?
Will you recommend averaging down at this level ?
Will also appreciate any comments on the sustainability of the dividend.
Looking at the insider buying/selling information of my discount broker I do not see any substantial ownership by senior management. Can you confirm this ?
Please deduct as many credits as necessary.
Thanks
Q: Assuming I would like to divide recent funds into 4 companies that I can set up as DRIP’s and leave for 20 years what would you recommend. I am diversified otherwise.
Q: AEG seems unusual in terms of its extremely low dividend payment to cash flow ratio, price/book, and other ratios. Its 12% 3 year dividend growth average is very attractive. However, the negative earnings, etc. are concerning. Is this a stock you would buy? Which North American insurers would be more desirable for growth/safety of dividend?
Q: Are the Extendible Notes offered by TD Bank as safe as GICs . They offer a slightly better yield on CAD GICs and over 6% on USD . There must be a downside to cause this ... Please explain
