Q: I've held IGM on DRIP for 25 years (in an RRSP). It comprises 15% of my total market value across all accounts. I also hold CIX and the two comprise 16.6% of my portfolio of 35 stocks. Since IGM's price has firmed up recently with upswing in the market, I'm wondering if now might be the time to trim my exposure a bit. I like the IGM dividend and don't know what I'd replace it with. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Q: I saw a report today that the Republican GOP is planning to introduce a bill to reform (lower) US corporate taxes that includes a so called "border tax" on all imports. Some talking heads have commented that if it becomes law as currently written the US dollar will see a big increase (as much as 25%). Have you heard about this and do you have any comments? Is it time to overweight US holdings to hedge against a currency increase?
Q: I am setting up a portfolio based on your model balanced portfolio. Would you still buy all the same companies today or are there some you would change?
Thanks
Thanks

Q: If one wanted to shift 10% of one's portfolio exposure from Canada to the U.S. is it better to convert cash from CAD to USD and then purchase stocks on an American Exchange or alternatively use CAD to purchase American Stocks (that also list on the TSX) or ETF's (holding US Stock) that list on the TSX?

Q: Hello 5i team
Like many others I am in the process of re-balancing as we move into the new year. I feel I am well diversified with one glaring omission which is my ex Canada and US holdings.
Could you help me out? I'm looking for an etf that is strong and stable and covers the rest of the world.
Thanks

Q: Hi Team, Sorry, another US question please. Yesterday a member asked about Southern Company (SO) a US utility. I have a similar question about Consolidated Edison (ED). Do you think it is a decent US holding for income? Of the two (SO and ED) do you see an obvious preference?
Many thanks.
Michael

Q: ENB: The stock price fell by 1.252% AS OF 2.32 PM today.
I found this in the news. Could this be the reason? What impact do you think this has on ENB?
Market Chatter: Refiners Shun new Canadian crude blend offer from
10 Jan 2017 08:39 AM EST, (MT Newswires) -- Enbridge Inc has approved a new stream of heavy Canadian crude for export on one of its major oil pipelines to the United States, according to four trading sources, Reuters is reporting. Q: Hi Peter & team, if you had to make a choice today between OTC and ABT, what would it be? Are they both takeover candidates? OTC has debt and pays only a small dividend, on the other hand ABT has no debt and pays a good dividend. Regards, Gervais

Q: Hello 5i team,
I own a full position of CHE since 2012 and my total return of over 10% compound annual is mostly yield. As of recently, I also own half a position in MX. The other player in the field is SPB which I do not own.
(1) If you had to select only one, would it be MX?
(2) Is there a case to be made owning a position in all 3?
Thanks,
Antoine

Q: I currently hold these stocks in my TFSA. I want to max out my TFSA account for 2017. I have equal positions in all. Would you recommend to add to the exiting stocks or add a new stock(s) like SHOP, TOY, or KXS. Current holding are in the six figures. Thanks for your input.
Q: Given the most recent pullback HBC has come on my radar list as a value play. I'm going to be looking into it today. What are your thoughts? Do you think the decline in share price will force management to create value through their real estate holdings are possibly take the Company private?
Thanks,
Jason
