Q: You had previously given the following criteria to judge momentum stocks: "For momentum we like a rising stock price with increasing volume, positive earnings surprises, accelerating earnings, analysts' upgrades and target prices. "
Would I be correct in assuming that in the current markets, we need to think more like value investors, however, than momentum investors? If my observation is correct how does one then analyze value stocks?
Appreciate your insight.

Q: Hi,
I have a small position in Sangoma and am considering selling and adding to another tech company. Going forward however do you consider the macro space in which Sangoma operates to be a driver for growth or would you see other tech companies with greater potential and if so, a few names would be helpful. I recognize Sangoma is a small company.
Thanks

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan
Could you name a few Candian and US companies that are great capital compounders? Which ones, in your opinion, have a "Reinvestment Moat", i.e. they have a moat and also have a long runway of opportunities to deploy incremental capital at high rates into the foreseeable future? As a next best alternative, companies with a good moat and exceptionally strong capital allocators.
Thank you!

Q: My wife and I are seniors drawing from our RRIF's and we are 'buy and hold' type of investors and need income. Your recommendations to 'harvest' capital losses is something that we have not really done previously but this suggestion is resonating with us now. If we were to do this I think we would look for 'proxy' purchases for at least the 30 day waiting period before we could repurchase the same equities if we wished.
Could you suggest some appropriate 'proxy holdings' we should be aware of for the following equities?
1. The REITs HR.UN, BPY.UN......would ZRE be a good holder?
2. EXE
3. POW
4. FM
5. MTY
6. TFII
Please use my question credits as appropriate. With thanks

Q: I understand that a covered call ETF will produce lower highs and higher lows compared to a non-covered call ETF. However, what would cause the ETF's to have an inverse relation on a trading day? For example, if we take ZEB and ZWB, I noticed on some trading days in the past (even before the current volatility), one ETF would be up a few % points, while the other ETF would be down a few % points.
Q: Earnings looked okay - any concerns to highlight? I can see them being a benefactor during this crisis as remote health options become more prevalent.
Thanks

Q: Can I get your opinion on Royal Dutch Shell? With the share price decline their dividend yield is quite high, so like many oil stocks now the question is sustainability. Is this another dividend trap? (got burned on Vermillion!). Thanks for your views.

Q: Good morning, I hold these smaller cap companies in my TFSA for more aggressive growth, a strategy I believe you endorse.
In this new reality, I am thinking of a more conservative approach and selling the above and converting to FTS, RY, XRE, SLF.
If things recover well I will get a great pop on the big caps without the individual company risk associated with the smaller caps. If things go poorly with the recovery, my large cap mix should drop a lot less than the smaller caps.
Also, any of the above smaller caps that you do not like.
Thanks
Rob
