Q: In the US last week, there was a landmark agreement with the National Realtors Association that should change the way commissions are determined across the board. There should be more competition with lower commissions. Can you comment on how the decision and the new direction might impact the housing market here in Canada and what impact it may have on companies in the real estate buy/sell market? What companies might be affected? How big might the impact be? Who could be winners and losers?

Q: BRE had what looks like a positive announcement today - market reaction is mixed - this is a small company; no dividend growth buy high yield over many years. I have a small allocation in my portfolio just to give my overall yield a bit of a boost. Do you like the deal announced today? Is it a ‘safer’ company ad a result of this deal?

Q: Hi 5i Research Team:

I have traded Forex before and am new to stock trading. 90% of my RRSP, RESP and TFSA is in cash and I'd like to avail the current market conditions by "gradually" buying the dips.. and holding it over the long term, 5 to 10 years. I understand that no one can time the market or its bottom.

After exploring the reports and questions on your site, I have identified the enclosed 29 stocks based on following criteria:
- Current Retracements of > 75% over 52 week high & low
- Dividend Yield > 5% (in some cases, like WEED, which is a bit risky, I understand there's no dividend in the near term.. and I am simply going for the upside swing over the next 2 years... same for CRON and Air Canada)

Considering my 90% cash position and strategy to partially buy in on dips over the next few weeks, can you please advise if my stock selection is sound. In addition to my stock picks, please advise anything else that I should keep in mind.

Thanks for everything you do. Much appreciate.

Q: Can I please get your opinion on the above stocks? Would you consider these bargains at these prices if one is expecting this turbulence not be last longer than one quarter? How sustainable do you view their dividends if we enter a brief recession? I'm wondering whether to get greedy while others are fearful.

Thanks for the great service!

Q: Keep in mind that I am now a retired (unabashed) income investor. My high risk growth days are past,(too much stress) Slow steady reliable 4% + div stocks ROCK MY WORLD NOW. So what is up (in your view) with the former Brookfield named (now Bridgemarg Real estate services)Is the recent poor performance a reflection of the name change and not having the star high profile parent name in it or a sagging sector. Is there something to fear about the div here. All my stocks average 3% holdings. Is this suitable or should I reduce? I have held it since 2012. Thanks for your time.
