Q: SAFT seems an excellent dividend and diversification prospect to me. However, is its extremely low P/E indicative of extreme value or a marked lack of interest by investors. What, from your perspective, are SAFT's prospects 5 years out?

Q: Your views on AMGN. The price is moving in the range between US$230 to US$245. Pays a dividend yielding 2.5% plus and increasing dividend year over year. One bad thing is happening with its new drugs. They are failing and not getting approval. Your views. Should exit the position? What's your choice? Do not own any drug company but own BAX-N as 10% of my portfolio. I run very concentrated portfolio based on individual companies and ignoring sectors.
Q: What is the future of Dupont? The company did acquisitions then merger then sold some business and finally split in three but company never grew? Your suggestions. Should I switch to DOW-N which I got when DWDP (DowDupont) split or APD-N which is betting on new $7-bil Hydrogen plant project?
Q: What are your thoughts on PSFE now that it has reported quarterly results? Is it a buy for significant growth over the next 2 years. I recently purchased NVEI as well (on the dip) and have been pleased so far. Thanks.
Q: Please comment on latest Q1,2021 results reported on Jun 1,& the stock. 2 recent guests on Bnn think that the stock is ok.& may do well in 2H,2021 as it maximises its production of gummies & chocolates, which are reported to be popular in USA & Canada. I have owned it for several years,down67%. Txs for u usual great services & views
Q: Answer to Gary (June 8) about budget records. We use Quicken Home and Business. It keeps track of investments (records security percentages and updates easily) and day to day banking. It is a lot of work to initially input information if a large number of securities and accounts so we will likely stick with it. No longer use Mint as we had to go to card websites to check balances and activity anyway.
Q: Hello Folks:
I feel because of increasing demand for green energy, specifically EV batteries, the future may see increasing pressure on scarce mineral resources required for this shift. I do not do ETF's, however perhaps one specializing in a range of metals for this industry would be sound strategy. I could move a portion of our tech. money this direction.
What do you think of this idea and do you have suggestions of suitable equities?
Thank you for your great service
brian
Q: I have Canadian cash to purchase an S&P 500 index etf in a non registered account with no immediate need to withdraw any funds. Please explain the differences and advantages/disadvantages of using an etf that is hedged or non hedged C$ versus converting to US$ to buy the index? What are your favourites of each? Which approach do you recommend using now?
Q: I already own AAPL, AMD, AMZN, CRWD, J, AND MS.
I was looking at CRM, FB, GOOG and AVGO. I would appreciate your recommendations and am looking at adding 5 companies.
Q: Hello 5i Team
I am researching Bitcoin ETFs and it appears there are four ETF trading in the Canadian market (CI Galaxy Bitcoin ETF; Evolve Bitcoin ETF, Ninepoint Bitcoin ETF; and Purpose Bitcoin ETF).
Questions I have are:
1 – Are there any other Bitcoin ETF available in Canada?
2 – Do Bitcoin ETF trade in the US market or are Bitcoin ETF in the USA waiting for SEC approval?
3 – All four Canadian listed ETF trade in both Canadian and US dollar versions on the TSX – which is the better version to purchase and why?
4 – What are the Assets under management for each ETF (as of end of day June 04)?
5 – What would be your ranking of ETF to purchase?
Thank you
I'd like to say I enjoy this first class product. The questions obviously are one of the pillars of this service. Offering fantastic insight and vision for all who read.
Looking for confirmation and guidance.
Without specific weights etc is this a sound plan to stick to longterm?
Non registered account is now growing and will be holding CDN stocks.
Former holding was XIC
RRSP is in USD and holds VTI and VXUS
I like the currency diversification and funds. And norberts gambit reduced the cost.
I also pay into an employer matched pension.
TFSA growth stocks in both CDN and USD
I am looking at mid to longterm ETF'S for growth. Without regard to sector etc.
My portfolio is balanced.
My selections are:
SMH
VTWO
BOTZ
MTUM
IWO
QQQJ
ARKK
Could you please rank these in terms of your conviction on success. If one stands out and comes to mind that isn't here please add it.
I would like to add 2 funds.
Q: Could you please provide your latest thoughts on this company. Back in February you appear to be favourable Has your opinion changed after they reported in April. The stock has been acting very well from a technical perspective.
I am thinking of taking an initial position in my TFSA.
Thanks for the years of many successful investment ideas.
Since the last question, insiders have continued to buy, and debt seems to be more manageable now, at least according to TD Bank / ThomsonReuters. I'd be grateful to hear any update in your thinking on this one, half a year later.
On a related note, I've noticed over the years that CFOs tend to buy less than other officers, such as CEOs and Directors. Is it stretching things to assume CFOs are more conservative by nature, and that significant insider buying by a CFO is a slightly stronger indicator than by another officer? Am curious to hear your take.
