Q: Hi there. I'm heavily invested in financials, tech and industrials. So far so good. I don't have any defensive stocks such as gold and silver as I tend to be more of higher risk investors. What do you recommend as far as % of position in Gold/Silver sector? Do you recommend positions in this sector regardless of where the market is?

Q: I've owned and lost way too much money on Goldcorp over the years, only holding onto it to keep a balanced portfolio, but I should have sold this stock and bought another gold player a long time ago. Would Eagle Mines be a good replacement or what does 5I suggest as a replacement, with a moderate conservative profile and what kind of weighting should I hold for precious metals
Q: I have the same question for both of these equities. Any comment on earnings and the reaction? Is it reasonable here to add a bit?
Q: Hello 5i team,
As a follow up to Eugene's question regarding AEM, you say your happy to hold it in the portfolio; does this mean that I could take a position NOW at current prices?
Thanks,
Antoine

Q: Hello team,
What are your favourite names for gold exposure (producers or royalties) that offer the least amount of balance sheet and political risk.
Thanks

Q: I am just about to set up my portfolio. I am following your balanced equity portfolio. Most will be put into TFSA. I have to select about 6 to go in non registered. Obviously these would be the ones I would expect lower returns. Which ones should I select? I plan to keep not touch these investments for 8 years.

Q: I have no gold in any of my 3 portfolios. I feel that I should have gold exposure. Could you recommend a stock that I could hold for the rest of this year. I would like to see some dividends with a gold stock.
Q: Can you tell me what would be your favourite gold stocks right now. Not explorers, but actual producers, small, medium, or large, that can make money at this price, and hopefully have the prospect of increasing production. Thanks for your help.
Q: Is the divdend paid in US $ for AEM?
Thanks

Q: While I loath owning material stocks given the geopolitical, operational and commodity price exposure, I see AEM on your portfolio has taken a beating and this might represent an entry point. Materials is a zero weighting in my portfolio at present. Time for a change of heart?

Q: On July 15/16 you responded to a question on what would be some good gold stocks to buy at the prices that existed then. You suggested AEM, RIC, MND, BTO, FNV, SMF for a variety of reasons depending on the company. Would these still be your choices today considering the change in gold prices and other factors. If changes should be made do you have any new suggestions. Thanks.
Q: On a scale of 1-10, how strong would you consider AEM's and FNV's balance sheet? How were FNV's earnings in your view?
Q: Hi everyone,
Happy Holidays! I have small exposure to the materials sector through a 4% position in Stella-Jones. With the decrease in gold, I am looking at adding some gold exposure with Agnico Eagle. Do you favour adding exposure to gold or other sub sectors of materials. I know you've recommended Methanex recently.
Thanks,
Jason

Q: Can you suggest alternatives to the above stocks?
Q: I'm looking to eventually add both of these but only have cash for one at the moment. Which would you open a position in today?

Q: Hi Team,
I have a slightly overweight position in Franco Nevada, a half position in each of Agnico Eagle and Klondex, less than a half position in Silver Wheaton and bullion holdings including CEF.A.
I am trying to clean up a bit and am considering selling SLW and adding the proceeds to CEF.A, and selling KDX and adding the proceeds to AEM. I would be left with FNV, AEM and bullion as a result.
This would allow me to increase my weighting in bullion and reduce my weighting in bullion equities and move to full positions (or so) in the remaining holdings.
Do you have any feedback on this plan?
Thank you, Michael.

Q: I have CEF and PVG both up am thinking about selling and putting the proceeds to AEM, What do you think? Many Thanks
Q: Thinking of selling my AEM at a loss and buying BTO,which seems to have more upside potential.Thoughts??
Q: I have very little gold or silver or other precious metals stocks. Silver Wheaton seems a bit beat up. As I know you are good with a small amount of such holdings in a larger portfolio , would SLW be a good choice in your view? Or would you prefer AEM or some other stock at the moment? Thank you!
