Q: My take on ALC's 3rd quarter numbers are a sort of a "muted positive". They seem be doing better but not really enough to move the needle. They have added new ships and freight rates seem to be increasing so organic growth is better. The dividend was increased and they continue to buy back shares but this is double edged sword for a company with poor liquidity. They have raised expectations for the 4th quarter which will be a millstone if they don't post good numbers in January. The stock appears to be range bound and will likely stay so until they either post better numbers or make a good acquisition. They did increase their ownership in the "Ocean Self-Unloader Pool" so they haven't been totally quiet on acquisition front. Management style seems to be cautious and careful. Any comments you have would be appreciated.
Regards,
Jim

Q: So, results released and not pretty. I took a small position in this April 2018 (1.75% of Non-Reg Acc) and have been watching slow decline ever since. With today's bad news stock is down to new 52-week low. Question is, should I hold on, bail, or "double-down"? The Board seems to taking corrective action; the dividend has been cut and is now quarterly. I can afford to wait in the area of 5 years. But, I'm not getting as paid as much to wait today as I was yesterday. Thoughts?
Thank you, as always. Michael

Q: I would appreciate your comments on CGI's recently announced earnings. I have held this stock for a long time and am very happy with it's long term results. Recently Gordon Pape expressed caution with the stock going forward. He seemed to be concerned with a shrinking backlog. Your thoughts and comments would be appreciated. Thank You.

Q: What are your thoughts on Avalara? Is this a 5+ year hold? My investment thesis is over the long term online cross border shopping and digital currencies will require sophisticated taxation software. Governments will eventually require sale tax filings at point of sale which this software can accommodate. Thanks!

Q: Hi
I have done well with Constellation software, having trimmed it a few time back to 5% of my portfolio.
It is now at 5% and I am wondering if the "easy money" has been made in this stock. I am considerably overweight in technology and considering selling half (2.5 %) of My CSU holding
and letting the remainder ride;
My other tech holdings are GOOG AAPL KXS LSPD SHOP

Q: Tamarack Valley released their quarter today. I am down 30% on this name, and it is down today on results while other oil companies are rallying today. I bought this name because of the good balance sheet, supposed good management, and at the time was a growth name. In this environment, should I give up on this name and buy a different name in the sector? This is the only oil stock I hold. Would I be better buying something like VET and collecting the 13% div? Or...completely leave the sector. If so...is there another stock that recommend either US of Cnd that is very appealing to you today that would have a chance at getting my money back with this one? Thanks.
