Q: I read a previous response regarding TA & RNW. You stated that TA owns 37% of RNW but from what I can find, it appears they actually own 64%. Can you please clarify this and then provide your comments on purchasing TA as a deep value play. If they actually own 64% of RNW, it appears to be extremely reasonably priced (you are almost getting the TA assets for free...)

Q: Hello I am wondering that if and when EIF reaches a billion dollar market cap that money managers may be obligated to purchase EIF shares? What are the requirements required where fund managers are required to hold certain stocks? Al
Q: Can you tell me your opinion of Pattern energy and NextExtra energy, both renewable power companies. I'd also like your opinion on which is safer and has more upside
Q: Hello 5I,
It appears that the group that started Healthlease Investments, which were bought out in 2014, is back in 2016 with Mainstream Health Investment. The last time they were very successful after their IPO at $10; building a company that was bought out at $14.30.
Would appreciate your thoughts on management and any opinion you would have about the company. (Their corporate structure appears a bit confusing.)
Cheers,
Bob Ahearn

Q: Good Morning Peter, Ryan, and Team,
I manage an income oriented account which closely tracks the 5i Income Portfolio. However within that account I do have a small basket of more growthy but still steady eddy names with position weights of 2% each. The idea is to squeeze out a bit more return than just income stocks over time. The present holdings are GUD, SIS, ESL, SYZ, BCI, PKI. I was thinking of adding FSV and DSG to this group. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. DL

Q: Hi 5i, What are your thoughts on Shawcor. Still under water and holding. It looked like it was bottoming and starting to move up with oil but now stalled again. Hold or sell, take loss and move on. Unfortunately it's held in my TFSA. No need for cash for a few years.
Q: How do you use trend analysis to determine if a stock is trading at a good entry point? For example, WPK is trading at $46.52 as I write. Its 10 year trend line value using linear regression is $36, but the 1 year comparison is $49. Is WPK trading above or below its trend line ie based on 1 years trading it appears under valued, but using the 10 year value it appears currently over priced. Thank you.
Q: Hi , I am contemplating doing some bottom fishing with money set aside for higher risk plays .
PHO by the books looks good , is there any possibility the recent loan fiasco could lead to criminal charges?
On the damage control conference call they mentioned a potential 1 time special dividend and even possibly putting the ompany up for sale .
With the books looking so good , does this seem to have more upside potential , than down ?
Thanks,
David

Q: Hello thinking of switching out of this stock. While there is a dividend it isn't large enough to offset in my opinion the geographic doldrums. Am thinking of switching to SIA or Milestone REIT. I do not need the income but want some dividend and some capital appreciation. Do you have a preference or another recommendation?? Thanks, Bill
Q: Could you give your insight into the growth profile for Shopify wrt revenue, margins, balance sheet, etc. Who are or could be their customers? What is their biggest risk? What are some companies, current ones and already successful ones, that you might compare Shopify to? And if you did rate it, what letter grade would you give it?
Thanks for your continuous assessment of so many different companies. Tis very informative.

Q: I would like to add to my portfolio one or two of the following. ENB,PPL,TRP or PPL:US. My investgation revealed that these 4 COS. are over valued, future sales and profits are not encouraging. I do not know if the dividends are sustainable. Please give me your advise on these cos. or any other co you may like to recommend. Thank you
Q: Titan Medical (TMD.ca) gets no mention in media. I bought thinking Titan could be the Canadian Intuit Surgical. I have met management and have rooted for this Canadian science & med company . For some 3 years I sense management seem to spend much of the day in internal squabbling. Sad if Canada were to lose yet another tech co. , especially one that was one of the top performers on the TSX a few years ago. Would you please comment on this company’s prospects ( I wonder who might need to buy them?)

Q: I currently have, CSU,DSG,TNC,ESL, SYZ. I also have a little bit of MDA, BB, and AVO. I am not sure if these would be considered Tech or not.
I would like to add KXS. My portfolio is ~12% towards this space, and I remember reading that you are ok with 15 or 20%.
Anyhow, before adding KXS, should I sell some of the above, and concentrate my holdings?
I have done well on DSG and am up 70%, should I just sell it and move to KXS, or just add KXS?
Thanks for the guidance.
Cheers.

Q: I am looking to add some diversity to my rrsp holdings and value your opinion. I would like to add a position in xmm, emerging markets, low volatility and one of xmw or xmy, which is $Canadian hedged. What would be the reason for the discrepancy in nav between xmw and xmy(hedged)? I realize that the latter are newer etf,but which might be the better choice for a 2 to 4 year hold? Also,Vanguard just initiated vvo, another global etf. Have you had a chance to view and could you give your opinion? Thank you for your great service.
