Q: I am seeking to understand geographic diversification as I confine my equity exposure to those listed in Canada or USA. However, many of these equities have international operations outside of North America. I think of this as my international diversification, although I believe this is not how geographic diversification is generally viewed. Appreciate any brief comments or insight you can give. This may be too general a topic to reply to in brief, so perhaps you could advise one or 2 references on the topic.

Q: I have to sell most of my TFSA holdings but have the option to leave a bit in the account. I have approximately equal positions in the following stocks and I am down on each one. Each seem to have positive comments from the 5i team.

Could you please rank the 4 stocks in the order that you would keep them for a 5+ year hold in the TFSA?

GSY (-39%), SHOP (-15%), ATZ (-27%), TOI (-14%)

Q: Do you think Mastercard has the potential to outperform the market over the next three to five years? The company has had to cut the fee it charges retailers in various countries, it is facing lawsuits regarding its high fees, and it has more competition now. Do you think the cash-to-card runway opportunity outweighs the risk of a drop in revenue due to lower fees? Also, in the US, where merchants may be allowed to choose another payment network even if the customer pays via a Mastercard, do you think Mastercard has an advantage with its value-added services?

Q: CAVA's IPO opened at $22 US and has already doubled. There is a lot of hype around it and being called the next Chipotle. Too easy to jump in....or wait a little?

Q: This is in response to Jim’s question regarding selling covered calls on Microsoft. I understand the fear of it easily rising above the strike price. Just a suggestion from an amateur, if you feel it would likely go up, you could instead sell a put. This is, of course, an opinion on the direction the stock is headed and 5i may not suggest that. Q: Pins is gaining some momentum.You think it can continue and is it still a good takeover candidate?
Paypal had interest in Pins,or was this never the case?Could you think of any other companies that might be interested in Pins?
What about other companies like SPB and CTS?are they good takeover candidates?
Is brookfield still buying SPB and what is their position right now?

Q: Did not have an opportunity to hear what ECN had to say about their earnings and possible sale of the company. Was there any indication of what direction the strategic review might take and possible timing of any announcement.. Secondly if a takeout does not occur is there anything in terms of future guidance that would provide support for the shares around current levels? Current results appear rather tepid and my concern is that shares could tank without positive news from the strategic review. What is your sense as to what direction the strategic review might take?
