Q: Nextera Energy (NEE) released a lot of information today! The new partnership with Google sounds good with NEE building the power plants to power Google’s new data centers. I think the new power contract with Meta is also good and the new natural-gas-fired plants are needed. But NEE is spending big dollars and is pulling back on dividend growth in 2027. Would you be able to share your thoughts and concerns with NEE’s plans? Would you add shares today? Or would you prefer to invest in companies winning the contracts to do the actual builds? Thank you.

Q: I just saw a question on transcontinental. It seems like they are selling their packaging business, which I think they bought in 2019 as the new big thing. My question on it is whether the stock price generally falls following a payout and, if this is the case, you might not be any better off in waiting for the payout than selling now?

Q: Retired, long term holder of Nutrien in both TFSA and RRIF accounts. All in, it has been a pretty good year for NTR....up roughly 25-30%.

Your thoughts on NTR's prospects over the next year or so, in general? Please include your thoughts on the Jansen mine coming on line...and your thoughts on the latest USA tariff threats?

As NTR is fairly cyclical, my plan was to consider trimming or sell all of NTR when it reached into the $90-100 range.

Is investing in insurance companies like SLF a good idea in a declining interest rate enviroment , or are they like banks and make up the difference in lost revenue in other areas of their businesses ?
Also would now be a good time to buy into REITS , DIR specifically as it has not done very well over the past year and therefor more likely to rise more also with declining rates ?

Q: My financial holdings are TD, BNS, BMO, MFC and SLF. With the recent surge in the banks I am looking to rebalance back to a 50/50 split between banks and insurance companies. If you were to add a third insurance company, which would it be? Or should I add a non-bank/insurance company like BAM or X which is still classified as financial? I am only interested in large cap, dividend-paying stocks.

My question is on Circular Deals in AI investments:

Circular deals involve investment money flowing between companies that also buy from or sell to one another.
"A series of agreements negotiated among a small number of players in the artificial intelligence (AI) field is raising concerns about the potential risks of so-called circular deals." https://www.pon.harvard.edu/daily/dealmaking-daily/what-are-circular-deals/
Recently, OpenAI and NVDA reached a deal where OpenAI would receive up to $100 billion in investments from NVDA. This could be viewed as a circular deal, as OpenAI is likely to buy gear from NVDA, which will reinvest those profits in OpenAI, creating a cycle.
What are your thoughts on circular deals? In my view, such a deal could artificially inflate NVDA's revenues, potentially leading to a correction in the valuation of the companies involved. Is this practice proper or legitimate? These deals aren't only between these two companies, it appears to be widespread.

I'm curious if you recall your days at Sprott and before, specifically late 1999 and then 2007-2008. Did you get a feeling that the markets were overvalued (or had gone up too much too fast)? Did you make any defensive moves by taking profits, going to more conservative holdings, using options to protect downside, etc?
To me it looks like the conditions are ripe for similar declines.

Q: Hi Team,
The stock has fallen from C$293.53, a 5-year high to C$183.66 on 2025 Dec 5th. In the last report Q3 (2025 Sep 30) had increased revenue and profit and kept full year outlook. If someone is a long term investor, should he stay invested and add to the position (to take the advantage of weak market) or sell and deploy capital in some other Canadian Tech (only in Canadian company investment option). Your views about the company fundamental and future prospects based of AI fear in the market and not for any personal financial advice. Just to know as the fear of AI is really going to hit this company so bad?
