Q: I have been trimming a few positions in my TFSA as they've gone up quite high and now I have $40,000 USD and $4000 cad. I've been waiting to buy certain stocks on the dip and will DCA some of these funds into market but I was thinking I should put it in some type of interest receiving liquid option in the meantime. What you you recommend? I was thinking Cash.to for canadian dollars? SGOV for USD? I believe Sgov would trigger that 15% dividend withholding tax in the tfsa but it's better than swapping to cad and back to usd cuz my instituation charges i think 1.5% each time. Are there any other options you would recommend? for liquidity I can sell and have access same/ next day? thnks!

I am overweight Nvidia and plan to sell some. At my stage it is probably wise to put this in fixed income. I don’t know much about this, however, and have been made a bit gunshy by hearing of people losing money in what one would imagine to be a safe and secure bet. So, iaskif you could give me some possibilities for US dollar fixed income in a non-registered account. Something that could reduce taxes would be helpful, as well

Q: I had purchased this in my RRIF thinking it would be fairly stable. Unfortunately with the drop in the US dollar it has not performed well. Would you continue to hold short term US gov bonds in this environment?. The second part of th e question is this a reasonable ETF for that purpose. I do hold AGG as well

The fund seeks to track the investment results of the NYSE FactSet U.S. Tech Breakthrough Index (the underlying index), which measures the performance of U.S. listed companies engaged in cutting edge research and development of products and services in the areas of robotics and artificial intelligence, cyber security, cloud and data tech, financial technology, and genomics and immunology. It generally will invest at least 90% of its assets in the component securities of the underlying index. The fund is non-diversified. The Fund seeks to track the investment results of the ICE 0-3 Month US Treasury Securities Index, which measures the performance of public obligations of the U.S. Treasury that have a remaining maturity of less than or equal to three months." I don't understand why the TBills are related to this index. Is the debt incurred by these companies comprising the index?

Q: Is this ETF less secure because it follows bonds from "breaking edge technical companies index" even though they are T-bills. If one were looking for a relatively secure Tbill ETF to gain modest income and possible currency benefits in a RRIF which would you chose.

If it's not too much to ask could you give me the most accurate yield that you possibly can on the above stated ETF's . It's very frustrating obtaining this information acurrately as different web sites give different numbers . If you were to rely on just one non prescription website what would that website be to obtain reasonably accurate yield information ? I'm sure you get tired of being asked this question on a fairly regular basis .
If you have other suggestion on similar like ETF's i would be all ears .
I also assume that all these ETF's are quite safe and that no more than 100K should be put into any one of them .

Q: Can I get your thought on DLR/DLR.U vs. SGOV or BIL for parking $300K in US cash for a 4 months period? The yields are very close and additional consideration for DLR/DLR.U is that the distributions are paid every 3 months, so the holdings can be sold prior to ex-dividend date to get capital gains instead of income.

Q: Is the interest/dividend paid by this ETF subject to US withholding tax if held in a Canadian RRIF account?

Q: Hi, I want to park some USD in a US bond ETF that is super safe. Right now I have it in RBC RBF2014 and it is getting 3.9%. If I could get a better rate and it is really safe could you recommend something better?
