Q: Can you please comment on this quarter, I am specifically looking for growth outlook, at a glance it looks better to me but I am not an expert in financials.

Can you also please comment on the recent resolving of litigation and the partnership that was just formed. How do you see these affecting sales and bottom line, if at all?

I have owned this name for a while and need to decide whether I should hold or take my losses. Any names you would replace it with in the same sector?

Q: Hello 5i team,

Which ETF is best suited for a long term hold (30 yrs) in a TFSA that will be DRIPPED and contributed to annually. I like the equal weight positions of ZRE but with a higher MER of .61% over the long term it seems the fee's could really start corroding my capital. VRE is the cheapest but also has the smallest yield and is market cap weighted. Is it possible BMO could lower these fee's in the future to stay competitive? I would eventually like to draw income from the holding.

Q: I read the blog on U.S. dividend aristocrats but unless I missed something there was no specific ticker or recommendation made. Does 5i have suggestion for an etf to take advantage of this strategy?

Q: My longest holding (20 yrs) is FRU which I have sold down over the good years, but still held some through lots of up and downs. I have held VET but eventually sold after its big run up in 2014. I am thinking of switching my remaining (and only O&G stock) FRU for VET. I invest for income, preferably with some growth prospect. However, I believe there is a possibility of CN (I think) taking FRU private and would be disappointed to miss out on the usual take over premium. Your thought would be appreciated.

Q: Peter, I've been thinking of CAR.UN for a long-term hold; it yields about 4.4% But I just saw Ross Healy (who I think has a pretty good track record for conservative investors) recommend Cominar, with its 10% yield. I have no need for active income; everything will be reinvested. For a long-term hold, would you expect someone to do better overall (including distributions of course) with CAR.UN or CUF.UN? The units will be held in an RRSP. Thank you.

Q: I have held WEF for about three years and essentially have just made the annual dividend. I am usually very patient and do realize the stock seems cheap on most metrics. My current concern is government intervention changing the outlook for companies such as WEF. I have Airboss, Enghouse and Exco Technologies on my "want to buy" list. Would you endorse a switch into one or all of these given the fear of the unknown with WEF. Thanks for your great service.

Q: Peter and Team,

My total portfolio is approximately 5% Gold Bullion, 9% Short term bonds (Brookfield Infrastructure 5 year and CBO), 86% Equity. The equity exposure is currently 7.5% in US Stocks (JNJ, SBUX, XYL, V) and 78.5% Balanced Equity Model Portfolio.

I was thinking that I am missing international exposure and am thinking that I should be adding some sort of ETF for this. I originally was thinking of building a portfolio including Nestle but I think that the weighting will be too small to build individual positions.

Can you please provide your ideas for ETFs that would provide international diversification given my current holdings and, if possible, any weighting I should be aiming for in terms of international position? I would describe myself as very much in line with the risk profile of the Balanced Equity portfolio.

Q: Hi
I would appreciate your view on the recent Capital Power minimum reset preferred issue CPX.PR.G. It has a floor of 6% yield with upside if interest rates eventually go up. I am aware that the Alberta government is planning to retire colas assets and the compensation may fall short. My thought is the prefs would be a relatively safer way to capture yield. Your perspective is appreciated

Q: I had a trilling ride this summer! In FR around $12,I couldn't believe how quickly it got to $25,even faster on the way down to $10! I'm still committed to the Precious Metals sector as the world seems exceptionally strange right now...
My question is; A lot of investors 'bought' at much higher levels will there be a lot of overhead resistance as it tries to climb higher? Would it make sense to sell and buy another Silver Co. that will not have as much selling pressure as investors try to break even? (I'm assuming that Silver/Gold may take some time to go higher, if silver is trading at $22 in 3 months then I would think it doesn't really matter)

Q: I would like to have your opinion on Blackberry, is it worth keeping, the price seems to behave like a yoyo. They said they will stop making blackberry phones, but then recently in the news that a blackberry is coming out to the market with an exciting new keyboard... Thanks in advance. Catherine
