Q: Would you kindly identify your favourite 5 positive momentum stocks for Canada & 5 for the US ignoring income, safety etc…strictly momentum. Thank you as always.

Q: Hello, with the current inflation scene, economy and interest rates, expectations of a pause by Federal Reserve and possibility of a soft landing, what sectors will be your favorites to invest/overweight today with a 5-10 years horizon ? And, in these sectors, what will be your best 3 picks, based on current valuation and future growth, in order, with suggested price levels to buy/add ?
Q: Not sure if this is within the scope of your service, but can you explain why a country like Japan with a huge amount of debt-to-GDP has not had a collapse of it's currency from YCC or huge inflation? How is it that increased debt has let to deflation? I've heard some reasons over the years but none that make sense.
The reason to ask is our Canadian, European and US governments also have a huge debt burden, increasing interest payments on this debt and a continuing increase in debt over the foreseeable future. How could any rational investor have confidence in this debt/credit based system? Will we turn Japanese? (to quote the Vapor's song!) What factors would push us into deflation vs inflation?
Q: Any idea why this one is selling off so hard and fast? Does it have to do with AI competition from google? It seems it fell right out of favour about the time i bought it.
Q: Hello. What do you think of a switch from NWC to AW.UN (both in an RSP)?
NWC is currently 1.4% of our portfolio at a gain of 24% (40% with dividends).
AW.UN is currently 1.7% of our portfolio at a slight loss of -3%, but with a gain when including dividends.
Q: Further to my previous question, in their last financial results, they speak of a recapitalization event. Can you speculate as to what form that might take? Would it likely be a bond issue followed by share buybacks, or ...???
Thanks!

Q: I would appreciate an update regarding the payout ratio for this company, and your assessment of both the likelihood of a dividend cut and the relative safety of the dividend after, say, a 50% trim (which today would still leave about 6.5% payout).
Thanks!

Q: Hello 5i
As a long time holder of CSU I'm wondering about what % of CSU TOI and LMN one might own. Without giving me specific guidance can you comment on the pros and cons of an equal weighting of each (ei 33% of each).
Thanks
Dave
Q: Hello, just wanted your updated opinion on HLIF to generate income. I would also appreciate another choice of covered call ETF with more history and with which you would be comfortable for maximum income without undue risk. Thanks.
Q: (as a follow up to an earlier question this morning where you figured this was a sell)
not trying to pick a fight yet would you consider that, as one of the only profitable mso/pot companies, it seems like it would be a good spec at today's $10?
the chart certainly looks like it has been bottomed out
would not the potential/eventual change in the US banking legislation not be considered a catalyst that could easily see this double or triple from $10?
(as an aside, last fall when there was rumour of a leg. change, it quickly doubled)
Q: Once they payout the $4.55 special dividend, we should be looking at a $9.50 or less stock, do we know if the monthly distribution is staying the same as it would then be yielding over 7%?
Q: Hello, Shopify stock dropped almost 7%, in Today's trading. Partly it could be attributed to decline in most Technology stocks. But, I was wondering if the patent infringement suit pending in a Texas court also played a part. It was also reported today that Shopify has filed a motion to force Lower 48 IPPLC, to reveal its backers/fund, as this company has a history of such filings against prominent companies with the intention of extorting money for their group.(Last one filed by this co against INTEL was eventually dropped in a similar situation). Not sure, I have all the facts.
If you think, it's only short term noise, does the price drop present a buying opportunity ?
