Q: I own the following 6 tech names (ROP is technically an industrial but fast moving into software) in my RRSP, each at about 2% weighting. I am thinking of gradually adding one or two FANG names to round this up. I am looking at MSFT and/or GOOG. If these makes a good complement, do you consider one or the other a better buy today?

Q: hi there,

I own a basket of chip companies including AVGO, Nvidia, Microchip in my US 401K and am looking to add Intel based on research that they have the best AI chips out there and will set them up for new technology going forward. Your thoughts. It would bring my total position to 5% of my portfolio.

Q: I have held pho for about a year and thinking of selling pho and buying nvda as they are down the same thus increasing the quality of my semi conductor exposure. Also I have made a lot of money from csu and kxs and have sold them and bought a small exposure to msft for the same reason. Does this make sense to you....thanks for the great service

Q: Hi there,

I inherited all 5 of these positions in my US portfolio and looking to reduce to 3. i am leaning to NVDA, AVGO and QCOM but I know very little about MCHP. I am also concerned about letting go of TXN given their role in converting analog to digital signals. YOur thoughts. I am looking for a balance of growth and a stable dividend.
Cheers

Q: Is Broadcom still a Singaporean company today? There has been reports in the news media around November 2017 that Trump announced "he" is moving it back to the USA. I hold a significant position in my RRIF. If it is a USA company today, I will have to pay U.S. estate taxes if I die. I will need to sell my position before that happens. Can you look into it's current home country? Is there a reliable website I can go and check the home country of Broadcom from time to time? Thanks.

Q: I'm hoping you might be able to help me understand why Broadcom (AVGO) seems to be so highly regarded by the investment community, as a strong buy. When I review the stock on the TMX website there is an indication that this company's shares are currently trading at a price to earnings multiple of 223.6 to 1. That seems to me to be an insanely high valuation yet the Research tab indicates that 21 analysts rate the company as a strong buy, 1 as a moderate buy and 1 as a hold.

Do you have an opinion about this company and its future prospects? Do firms in this industry typically trade on the basis of some other metric than P/E? Given that I hold nothing else in this space within my portfolio currently, would you recommend that I take a 5% position in this firm at this time?

Q: Is Broadcom (AVGO) considered to be a Singaporean company or an American company? If the company domiciles in the US, it would be considered as US Situs property. As such it may have implications for Canadians on US estate taxes. If it is considered to be a Singaporean company, then there is no issue with respect to US Estate Taxes. I was unable to get an answer from the Investor Relations of Broadcom. Thanks.
