Q: i've held MO for quite a while, over 10 years, and it's been a good investment. however i have some concerns abound the company going forward. as the number of smokers in the US decline the company seems to be falling behind the e-cig/vaping market and also not prominent at all in the pot market - which, IMO, a tobacco company would be perfectly suited for. i doubt the board is asleep at the wheel but i've seen it before. ethical concerns of owning a tobacco company aside, what are your thoughts on continuing to hold? i hold in my RSP so no capital gains tax to worry about. thanks in advance

Q: Can I get your current marijuana picks (one larger cap, one mid cap, and one smaller cap), with the criteria being eps growth, revenue growth, and balance sheet strength?

I started doing a little work on Organigram and unless I am mistaken, it looks like it has a forward p/e of 40 (eps numbers obtained from Thompson Reuters), low debt and a relatively small number of shares compared to its peers. These numbers dont look too shabby to me, against the backdrop of its higher valuation peers. Is there anything specifically in OGI's profile that could pose challenges in the future?

Q: In the past, when asked what the optimal geographic allocation is for the 'typical' Canadian investor with a long time horizon, 5i has variably replied 50/30/20 Cdn/US/Intl and 50/40/10 Cdn/US/Intl. Does this answer change if one considers the Canadian 'dividend-focused' investor, where the dividend tax credit would be a significant consideration? For this type of investor, would a higher allocation to Canadian equities be acceptable/preferable? If so, what would you consider to be a prudent 'upper limit' (percentage-wise) for the Canadian portion of one's total equity exposure? How would you allocate the balance between US and Intl. equities? Thank you.

Q: My question is prompted by Michael's question about portfolio construction and your answer re mixing balanced and growth portfolios. I imagine I'm not alone in doing the same by following your 'favourite' recommendations in the Q and A column. So I thought I'd share, and ask for your critique re my selection. All in a RRSP, up 16% and then retreating to 10% over the last month.
AMZN, NVDA, SPOT, PHO, CSU, KXS, SHOP, CCL, MG, PBH, GSY, PEO, RHT, TOY, TSGI, and 12% in Mawer Global Small Cap.

Q: Hi 5i team :
reading the analyst's report I noted their reluctancy to get too optimistic about Kevan Gorrie turning around the company for a better value. Their report cited execution risks due to a hot competitive industrial market. Kevan was the CEO of Pure Industrial before blackstone bought it. Is execution risk due to overpaying for land and labour or when buying smaller companies ? or something else ? Thanks

Q: Yesterday one of your answers to a question was "We would suggest KXS, TOY and PBH for growth".

Eleven days ago my 29 year old son transferred his tfsa from all cash to 85% etfs (VGG, VEE, ZWB at your suggestion) and to 15% equities (csu, sis, pbh per my suggestion and I was looking for growth with his long term horizon).

Given your growth picks of yesterday, do you think it's worth swapping his csu and sis for kxs and toy?

Q: Hello,
I would like some names to consider (2 or 3) for the healthcare sector.

I already own GUD in Canada (TFSA). This is for my RRSP so I am looking for a more conservative name.

I know you don't cover the US but would like names from the US or even international for geographic diversification. Also, for personal reasons, I do not want any drug companies (pharma or biotech).

Q: The cash positions of each 5i portfolio are currently:
6.67% - Income Portfolio
8.17% - Balanced Portfolio
10.59% - Growth Portfolio
As an individual investor, one of the factors affecting cash allocation might be cash requirements for living expenses. Could you outline other market factors that an investor should consider when deciding on the cash allocation in a portfolio? Thanks!

Q: I have a question about 995
I have 200 shares of Enf and my understanding is that I will receive 140 shares of Enb. Given that Enb is down significantly today why doesn't it make sense to sell Enf at today's higher price? Do you think enbridge will sweeten the deal fir Enf like they did with spectra?

Q: Please give me your thoughts re Diageo interest in pot stocks. I have done very well on Canopy and currently over 400% increase, however I feel price is too high to buy more. I want to get some more exposure to pot market and am considering Aphria and Aurora. I note that Aurora has more than double the market cap of Aphria and I have heard that Aurora has through many stock only aquisitions is quite highly leveraged, and Aphria with the CEO having a Jameson background is more suited to medical side. Would you suggest buying a smaller position in both or select one? Thanks for your unbiased knowledge.
