Q: Greetings 5i team,
I noticed a question today asked by Tim concerning GSY and what a target price to enter a position would be. I added some shares today at about $179, which was above your suggested entry price of $170 but this purchase only raised my average cost / share to a little more than $160. In addition to the entry price, do you think that this is a good way to view such a purchase as well?
Thank you
SP

Q: I'm thinking of selling my SHLD ETF for a more concentrated defence/areospace tilt and buying either RYCEY (Rolls Royce) or HWM? the beta of HWM concerns me though?

What do you advise? I already own GE.

Q: Hi 5i
Any thoughts on Amer Sports? They own the very successful Arcteryx clothing line as well as many other sports related businesses. At about $35, was $42 not long ago. Chip Wilson recently sold $160 million but still has 18% through his holding company. He appears to be raising cash (any idea for what?). The stock has tripled since IPO about 2 years ago. Your thoughts? How would it compare to another of your great calls, Aritzia?
Thanks, Greg

Q: Can you provide thoughts on the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets Value Factor ETF (EVLU) as a long term investment in the current high valuation environment?
I’m seeing a 3% 30day yield, 10.7 P/E, and 0.35 fee.
If in your response you say it’s too new (less than a year) or too small (10m AUM), please remind me why those things matter and how you’d weigh them for an investment that is otherwise attractive.

Q: In my RIF and TFSA accounts I way overweight BNS, which has performed splendidly, not to mention its attractive dividend. Looking to spread some of the market risk to TD but I'm leery of the other banks as they appear way overpriced by comparison. As an income investor, should I shift to ENB, FTS, EMA for more safety?

Q: Citing elevated redemption requests and tighter cash flows, some asset managers are joining a growing list of firms who are warning investors about changes to their real estate funds, which range from limited redemptions to reduced monthly distributions.

For example Trez Capital Mortgage Investment Corp, Nicola Wealth Management Ltd. and Centurion Asset Management Inc. informed investors about such changes. I own CAR.UN, KMP.UN and GRT.UN. Can I please get your thoughts for these three.

Q: Have been thinking about Chris’s question Sept. 25 regarding these two companies.

So it makes sense to buy BNT because you may have better share appreciation than BN and if you don’t then you can exchange it into the higher priced BN ? Thanks. Derek.

Q: Hello 5i

HPS seems to be in the doldrums and not sure they will recover. I'm thinking of selling full position in HPS and take half position in each of PNG and ZDC. (Both of which I don't currently own)

I have all of them as growth stocks so what's your opinion on this trade idea?

Thanks
Ken
