Q: I need to deploy about $400K in equities for a 75 year old friend whose instructions are conservative, low beta dividend paying stocks. He already has the usual suspects including the banks, Enbridge, plus FC and a few others. I can always add to his current holdings but RSI says many are stretched at the moment. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Q: Hi

Dick asked a question and you answered but there was no reference to the equities to which he was referring. You said they weren't SELLS.

Can you share what companies he was asking about?

This happens everyone once in a while. Is that because people aren't including the ticker symbol in the subject line?

Thanks
Robert

Q: Oklo has been an excellent stock for me with huge gains. I have taken profits along the way. Looks like a possible correction started. Would it be a good time to move onto something else. If so, could you give me three or four stocks to consider

Q: Hi, at what point would you start nibbling away at DSG? It seems to me to be victim of the AI-software concerns (similar to CSU entities). Your prior recent comments were quite favourable after their Q release so I am somewhat surprised/shocked the market has taken this down further. It is nearing a 52 week low.
Given the downward momentum, it may have another 5% to go but it looks to be a compelling buy around $135.
I have owned for years (trimmed along the way) and done well in the past by buying the dips. Is this yet another rare buying opportunity?

Cheers,
Steve

Q: . It will be paying a $1.00 per share special dividend in October. This is in addition to the regular quarterly dividend of $0.10 per share which will continue to be paid. After paying the special dividend, I estimate that Orca will still have about $6.00 CAD per share in cash. Can you confirm if the understanding of cash they hold is correct and also update any thoughts on the stock.

Thank you

Q: Good morning,

HHL is a core holding for me, and has been for some time, mainly for income (~10% yield).

I understand the pros/cons of covered call strategies. But given that this ETF is equally balanced with the largest 20 health care companies in the US, I am generally comfortable with it as a holding.

My question is this - what is your macro view of large-cap US health care stocks right now? On the one hand I get excited about the sector when factoring longer-term AI and how this will impact the space. And then I easily get caught up in the headlines that we are all seeing right now from the current administration, and the generally negative impact this is having on the individual stocks in HHL.

Curious for your views on the sector.

Thanks as always.

Q: Good morning.

In an attempt to diversify my stock holdings across different sectors of the economy I was having difficulty in determining to which sector TRI belongs. I’ve seen it referred to as a technology company, a finance company and an industrial company. If you had a gun to your head (please pardon the figure of speech) and had to choose a sector to which TRI belongs which one would you choose?

Many thanks.

Q: I am happily overweight both GOOG and NBIS (just over 8% each). For obvious reasons, I am loathe to reduce my holdings of either of these multi-baggers. If this were your portfolio, how large a holding of each would you be comfortable with? On a related note, please compare the risk/reward profile of both GOOG and NBIS to PNG and comment on the advisability of using potential proceeds from a partial sale of either to purchase a half position in this small Canadian stock. Thank you.
