Q: Which of these two stocks do you prefer at this time? I already hold AQN, BEP.UN and EMA in the sector. Thank you.

Investment Q&A
Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.
Q: I have noticed that many ETF's traded on US markets offer lower MER's than similar ones in Canada. Do you recommend owning US based ETF's in my RRSP or does it just add too much complexity for the average investor?
Q: 1. While navigating the Questions on the new website, is there a way to quickly search for questions for a particular date. I believe this was possible prior to the changes. This would help those of us who do not regularly read the questions on a daily basis. The only way I can do it now seems to be by keeping on clicking on the few pages at the bottom until the dates of the questions changes from for example today's date to yesterday's date and so on.
2. I was unable to find older Q & A from the time of your inception on many stocks. Have you deleted those older Q & A?
Thanks. Frank.

Q: Hi Peter and Staff
Always listed as one of your favoured REITS and I have done well on appreciation with lower yield than some and a touted low payout ratio.
Please comment on the Globe article yesterday regarding questionable ratios re: capital versus expense
They lumped it up there with Boardwalk with unsustainable payouts
Thanks for all you do
Dennis

Q: Which would you expect to perform better in a rising rate environment? PR slightly (by about 1%) outperformed HPR over the past 2+ years (since inception of PR), has a higher MER and both are actively managed.
Q: Hi 5i: Thanks for providing the sector percentages. One thing still puzzles me, namely the breakdown of the consumer space into (1) discretionary vs staples or (2) cyclical versus non-cyclical. From my reading it appears that discretionary and cyclical are synonyms, as are non-cyclical and staples. Is this correct? Also, could you tell me which sector Amazon, Priceline and Facebook belong to? Many thanks.
Q: Im looking to add an etf for foreign diversification in my rrsp portfolio. Long time horizon. I just want to "set it and forget it" for this particular etf. I already hold VEE in a half weighting. Looking for low MER and broad diversification across different countries. Any thoughts? Thanks again.
Q: Any guesses as to which Canadian banks may soon do a stock split?
Q: A comment more so than a question. I just read your article on CSU, KXS, and Descartes. I think It's the best article I've ever seen from 5i. Thank you for all you do for us. I renewed on Friday for 2 more years. Regards David

Q: Hi 5i: I want to include a power utility in my portfolio. I already include the pipelines and am considering the attached list. Which of these would you recommend for a longish hold, with a focus on growth, income and of course stability. Are there other interesting names you can suggest? Many thanks.
Q: What is your opinion ofXEG buy sell or hold.
Q: What do you think of the financing deal? Worth participating in for a high risk 2% allocation? Any visibility on them generating any revenue?
Q: What do you think of TSGI at this 28.00 plus price? Have a nice profit at this price and would not want to see it fade away. Replace with GC?
Q: Hello Peter and Ryan,
I am puzzled and would appreciate your input. Aurora is making an official offer (no longer just a proposal) for $24 per share of Cannimed. Why is Cannimed's price stuck at 19-20 range? Any ideas as i would have expected by now the Cannimed to go up to atleast 24? If you owned Cannimed with book value of $15 would you simply bail at this point due to uncertainty or hang on with hope of $24 or put a stop loss at 18 or so. Your comments are appreciated. Thank you

Q: Hello 5i,
As always I appreciate your very valuable advice!!
Earlier in Nov. you commented on the demise of Sears and the impact on other mattress retailers. In the comment you indicated that the mattress market in general is shrinking. If this is true should I be concerned about holding Sleep Country for the longer term?
Thank you
Dave

Q: What is your opinion on Arista Networks for a 3-5 year hold? Does the insider selling concern you? I understand you can't time the market but should one wait for a pullback or just buy into assuming it's a decent stock? Thanks!
