Q: Hi: My daughter is self employed and puts excess profits into her TFSA, to pay herself forward. In other words she pays herself so much per month. As another big commission cheque arrives she puts that toward her future monthly income, so that no matter what happens, ie slow sales, then she is prepaying herself into the future. She has accumulated over 50K now with the $$ just sitting in a very low interest savings account and not making much in interest.
Do you have any suggestions towards putting this into a low risk ETF or Blue Chip Stock or other suggestions? If so, what percentage in each? A portion could also go into a slightly higher interest fund. Any other suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Q: Good morning, what wud be the advantage for a Can.investor to buy Vanguard and iShares American Indexes ETF traded at the TSX that offers S&P500/DJA in CAD?. Is the answer that some investors want to stay in their CAD currency. But if someone has oodles of USD cash its better to buy these ETF's directly in NYSE. to avoid the money being exchanged twice. D'accord?

Q: COR reported yesterday February 4 and shares are down about 5%.
1. Your view on the results please , for example results vs. management forecasts.
2. Is projected cash flow sufficient to meet debt obligations and projected distribution rates ?
3. Is COR positioned well for the growth in the global need for data centers, especially given rapid digitization (possibly including some troublesome humans in the future) ?
4. I referred to your response to my question of January 13 (thank you). Is there anything in your answer of that date that you would change?

Q: I have approx. $90,000 to deploy into my husband’s TFSA. He is 66 and has not been taking advantage of the benefits of a TFSA. Can you please advise me of 12 stocks, and the weighting for each one, that you would highly recommend to get us off to a good start and continue to grow his TFSA. I’m ok with sensible risk. Q: Your thoughts on one of these 4 companies for a long term hold over 5 years. Tecsys showed the highest 5 years return among the 4. Do you think that it still has a long way up?
Any other companies in similar fields that you would prefer over these 4 names.

Q: QUIS has been moving in the right direction the past few days. On Friday I believe it was up almost 10%. The only news I see that might account for the strength was the announcement last week that the company was using 2 industry veterans to assist with strategic growth. Is this significant? Do you see anything else that might account for the upward momentum? What is your current assessment going forward?

Q: Do you know how a Canadian can go about moving Bitcoin out of cold storage and sell-it? I found no Canadian institution that can do it, only two small companies. After what happened with Quadriga, I don't want to use small private companies with little history. Thanks!

Q: I am quite new to investing and want your opinion on the current state of penny stocks. I started putting money in penny stocks 2 months ago and have alot of them doing well, too well, such as SCR//LUCK/MMED/EXRO/PYR/TAAT/EATS/GRN/GDNP/PKG that would go up 100+% within a month. And I noticed there has been a lot of penny stocks out there that would jump 50% easily in a few days on no news. The frothiness is really scaring me. Is this a phenomenon that is recent since the pandemic? Or has penny stocks always been doing this well for many years and decades? How do you see their "bubbly-ness" in the next 12 months? What percentage of one's portfolio do you think should be dedicated to these aforementioned relatively safe (larger market cap, revenue generating) penny stocks, assuming excellent income, 20-30 year horizon?

Q: I wonder if you think the risk level has risen in Couchetarde? The bmo analyst that follows the stock seemed perturbed when he heard Alain Bouchard saying unequivocally on a French language interview that he needs to be, wants to be and plans to be as big as Amazon and Walmart. I don’t think that it is ego pushing him to this. I believe he honestly believes this is the only way forward in the current market climate. Great if he could pull it off. But does this news not change the perception of this company from a relatively fast growth comfortably company to something far more risky?
