Could you recommend 2 to 3 ETF's for a long term hold in a RESP.

Q: Hello 5i. I am now planning to help my 30 year old daughter invest $10K of RRSP for a long term value. Can you recommend 3 stocks and 2 ETFs? As well, given current conditions, would you recommend equally spreading the investments over 3-6 months or invest in one full swoop given current conditions? Thank you!

Q: I currently hold these ETF's in a RESP. I have only XIC ,ZNQ and IWO at a 11% weight , would you be comfortable bringing them up to 15-20% each ?

Is there any other ETF you would add ?I am looking at XAW.

Q: Good afternoon,

I am planning on rethinking the majority of my investment strategy (choosing my own stocks). I plan on switching to a more ETF focused approach where I have 20% in bonds/gic, 15% US ETF, 20% Canadian ETF, 20% Foreign ETF and the rest left to my whims. For the Foreign ETF I was think VXUS and SPY for the US but what would be your recommended ETFs for US, Canada and Foreign (and perhaps bonds)?
For reference I am in my early 20s so I have a bigger risk appetite and presumably longer time horizon.

Q: Could you suggest for a RSP portfolio, starting from a cash balance of 150K, an array of 5 ETFs, covering Canadian and US/International sectors.
Would VGG selling in CAD qualify for the exemption of US taxes, or does it need to be a US traded ETF to qualify.

Q: My grandson is graduating next month. As a gift I’m going to give him an initial deposit for a registered account, help him open it by attending a meeting with a bank, or help him set up a DIY account. I want him to choose TFSA, RRSP, or FHSA after doing some reading (he doesn’t turn 18 for a few more months so we have some prep time). I read The Wealthy Barbour in my 20’s, is it still a good choice to educate and motivate young people about savings as a lifestyle, or do you have some other suggestions? I would also love suggestions for 2-3 stocks or 1-2 etfs that would be suitable for the initial investment (that could be added to regularly to keep the process simple) if he chooses DIY. Thanks!

Q: Hello, I am considered by 5i's report to be an Alpha Balanced Investor. I am 61 and planning to pull back to consult part time. I have an investment portfolio managed by a broker and have set aside $115K in non-registered funds and $11K in registered funds . Q: I have recently moved $100k into a self-directed RRSP and would like to deploy. Funds are in CAD. Q: Looking for investing suggestions for someone in there mid twenties that has a very good job and are just starting out investing, I was thinking buying a few ETFs that auto buy every paycheck through a big bank brokerage arm kind of set it and forget till they figure out if they want to learn more about investing. Also what would be a good basic investing book that teaches how RRSPs and TFSAs work? Is Gordon Pape still around, lol.
