Q: Big drop is it time to buy.
Q: For a relatively young investor (mid-30's), is there anything "wrong" with having mostly small and mid cap stocks? Is this ever recommended, or should an investor have a minimum % of their equities as large caps?
Q: Good Morning,
I currently own both of the companies listed and I am considering selling one to free up some cash. Of the two, which one do you believe will have the best upside potential in the next 12-18 months?
Thank You

Q: I have been using 2.6% as the TSX dividend yield for 2017. Accurate? I read 2.8% somewhere recently. Thanks for your help in clarifying. As always this simple metric is surprisingly hard to find.
Thanks!

Q: Until recently the pundits were claiming the Can dollar would be going lower in relation to the US dollar, in the last week or so that tune has changed. Given the recent CAN dollar strength, what does your Crystal ball say going forwards? ( and why, US Tax? move to commodities?)
Much thanks

Q: Are you concerned with the recent news of PBH's subsidiary HQ fine foods' pan Canadian recall on their sandwiches, due to a LIsteria concerns. Seems like damaging news. I can recall other consumer staples stocks being hit hard after similar events.
Thank you

Q: Am I wrong in thinking that CPG could do quite nicely in a high $50 oil environment. Just their high volume of 170000 bpd would lend itself to the bottom line and lift the stock. They are also light oil and producing in both the Us and Canada.

Q: Hi 5i! Me again! I might as well start off the New Year with a few questions....I am looking for a growth stock that in your eyes has very good potential for 2018. If you had to pick just one, which would it be and why? Cheers (again) , Tamara

Q: Hi Peter and Team,
My wife and I each hold both BCE and T in our RRSP/RRIF accounts. We are overweight Telecom, and trying to reduce the number of holdings. I note that T has beaten BCE for the one and two year periods, but BCE has beaten T for the three and five year periods. We would consider one of these stocks as a "hold forever". Also, not that it's pertinent, but we're BCE clients for our landline, internet, TV, and cellphone.
Given that 5i has dropped T from the model portfolio, if we were to keep only one of these two, which should we keep?
Thanks, and Happy New Year to all at 5i and our fellow subscribers.

Q: My daughter turns 10 this year. I have been regularly contributing $2500/yr to her RESP to get the Fed $500 contribution. I have had mixed returns so far in her portfolio. If you were to pick one stock going forward what would you suggest? Thx for your advice and all the best in 2018
Q: If rates including mortgages rise in 2018 which specific stocks would be the anticipated winners?
What would an extra 2% added to mortgage rates do to the Canadian economy? Also is there a correlation to high rates with certain commodities?
Thanks

Q: Happy and prosperous New Year 5i team,
I am just considering adding to my tfsa. I bought a chunk of Toy when it fell and thus have a bit of a profit already. And I was thinking of adding to it in 2018. But, I noticed that you added Dol to your buys this year and I have learned to pay close attention when you make a move. So, the question is, given that I am already well diversified, should I add to Toy or is there something about Dol which you have an extra strongfeeling about, since you added it to your portfolio?
thanks

Q: Do you think the reduced tax rate in the US, and/or the faster write off rules, will make Alaris’ business model less attractive to the US companies it invests in?
