Q: Hi Everyone at 5i! I am interested in initiating a position in a US railroad. Which one would be your choice for future growth ? Would this be a good time to invest now? Cheers, Tamara
Q: When looking at an ETF, sometimes I see, in addition to Management Fee and Management Expense Ratio (MER), Trading Expense Ratio (TER). I believe the TER reflects costs of maintaining the current holdings of the ETF in-line with what the ETF is trying to accomplish, and can be quite high when there is significant portfolio turnover. Is the TER included in the MER, or should one add the MER and TER together to arrive at the true cost of holding the ETF? I had always thought that the MER was the 'all-inclusive' cost, but I hear/read very little about an ETF's TER (and often, this is hard to find). Thanks.

Q: Hi there, I like the risk profile of the names that you tend to select in the Balanced Equity Portfolio, however I am looking to build a growthier version that is concentrated in fewer names. Which 7 names would you remove to produce a portfolio with more torque?
Also, I am looking to layer on some US exposure at about a 25% weighting of my portfolio. I was thinking either going all HXQ, 50/50 HXQ/CYBR or 50/50 HXQ/VFV. Which do you think would be the best mix?
Thanks!

Q: Good Afternoon,
I am looking for a pure growth fund for a 25 year old. Perhaps a global growth fund that he can add to every month for years to come to maximize growth, any thoughts?
Thanks

Q: Are preferred shares suitable for the retail investor?
I admit to not fully understand them but it seems to me that:
- value is primarily impacted by interest rates, so constitutes an interest rate speculation
- the positive or negative effect of an interest rate change will vary depending upon the particular issue
- even on a reset date, an issue will not necessarily trade at par
- the characteristics of individual issues varies a lot, complicating comparisons
- thinner market for individual issues, making for bigger spreads
- trading prices are not transparent
- a pref share ETF may be a better choice
Comments?

Q: How do I enter GIC's into the portflio analytics ? I can only show them as cash and this distorts the composition big time. Thank you.
Q: I was surprised with a previous question “What would you recommend if Mr Goodman steps down? Hold? Sell?”
My impression is that he has no intention and there is no indication that he will “step down.” Am I missing something?
From what I have read it also appears that it is unlikely that Medison will succeed in forcing him to step down.
Attached a recent article in the globe. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/article-knight-therapeutics-ceo-addresses-dissident-shareholders-proxy-fight/
In your opinion do you agree that Goodman will stay in control and get shareholder’s support?
Thanks
John

Q: Regarding the Crius/Vistra transaction (and a previous question on the topic). When I asked RBC Direct Investing about tendering my shares they stated:
"Currently there is no tender offers available for KWH.UN. If you are referring to the Vistra energy take over of Crius Energy, when this take over has been finalized it will happen automatically."

Q: They announced a bought deal today for 10 million shares at $0.80 per share. Beyond the dilution of existing shareholders, what does this mean for the stock? How do purchasers of shares in bought deals typically treat those shares, ie do they dispose of them over time or do they typically establish a long term holding?

Q: Hello,
With the news this morning that Profound Medical's clinical trial proved 96% effective for the prostate cancer patients involved in the study, do you see this as a buy? Or is it still considerably risky, given that FDA approval could take some time or be denied?
Thank you.
Brad

Q: I sold SHOP at $265 yesterday when the Citron report came into my inbox. I've been hit hard on other stocks targeted by Citron, and I wanted to retain my gains. Nothing much has happened. Do you expect it to continue its good behavior? Or should I wait a bit to buy back.

Q: I keep about 10% of RRSP for what I call " opportunity buy". I bought GOOG in December 2018 when it dropped to 987 and last week sold it to buy Biogen dropped 29% in one day due the the cancellation of phrase 3 R&D on amyloid based Alzheimer drugs. Now it up almost 9% in one week and GOOG is back to the exact price that I sold it.
What is your thought: Hold on to BIIB - more rrom to run or get back to GOOG?
Thank you!
