Q: Hi
I use BMOInvestorline as my brokerage account. I have a CDN and a US dollar side.

I'm overweight Canada and wanted to increase my US holdings. I thought that one easy way to do that was to journal my Enbridge and Magna positions from the CDN to the US side of my account.

I think I misunderstood what this meant. I had thought that it meant that my existing shares in ENB and MG on the TSE would be exchanged for ENB and MG shares traded on the NYSE. But the fellow at BMOInvestorline said that it's just changing the currency and the shares will continue to trade on the TSE.

Is there a way to take an existing position on the TSE and exchange it for the same shares being traded on the NYSE?

I'm not sure I really diversified my holdings. I just changed the currency.

Thanks,
Robert

Q: Can you recommend a sort of Rip van Winkle portfolio for an 84 year old lady who just sold her house? We're talking in the neighbourhood of $400,000. She has little need for the money right now and is not worried much about volatility. She has an pension which helps too cover the need for bonds.

Q: Recently you mentiontionned if there was a must own stock for you, it would be Nvidia. I own Qualcomm. I have been thinking about buying Nvidia for awhile, now. Although I don't want to be top heavy with technology stocks. Do you think it is worth it to sell Qualcomm in order to buy Nvidia. Taxes arent involved
thanks for the great service

Q: Would you consider these two energy/pipeline stocks as a reasonable holding in one portfolio for several years? With the trends to devalue energy stocks due to climate changes and relevant government policies some investors or investment firms would start exiting such stocks. I myself , despite the all negative sentiment for energy stocks cannot see that combustion powered engines will disappear from roadways of North America ,Europe, Asia or Africa any time soon. Will they all be replaced by " inexpensive" electric engine driven vehicles? I can hardly see it. Perhaps in 50 years? What is your opinion on this matter?

Q: I see anecdotal evidence that 25 to 40% of the population is unvaccinated and will not get the vaccine. What does our economy look like with 25 to 40% unemployment if mandates force these people out of the workforce?

Q: You have said that there is lots of money on the sidelines. How do we know that? Who’s money is it? Retail or institutional? If it’s retail and a recession comes will it come back into the market or be spent or elsewhere?
