Q: Hi guys,
RE: FNGS .. MicroSectors FANG+ ETN
I came across this while researching tech ETF's.
This is the description on the RBC Direct Investing website.
The investment seeks to link the return to the performance of the gross total return version of the NYSE® FANG+™ Index. The index is an equal-dollar weighted index designed to represent a segment of the technology and consumer discretionary sectors consisting of highly-traded growth stocks of technology and tech-enabled companies. The notes are unsecured and unsubordinated obligations of Bank of Montreal. Each note will have an initial principal amount of $50.
BMO Investorline does not have it in their menu.
Please give me your insights and opinion on this product.
Thanks as always,
Steve
Q: Can you please explain what this means & why it is impacting the price? Thanks!
Vaxart (NASDAQ:VXRT) is down 6% premarket on increased volume. Shares have sold off over 20% since last week after it disclosed a $250M at-the-market stock sales deal with Jefferies.
Q: I am more growth oriented and fairly aggressive in my portfolios. I currently own Loblaw but I am thinking of switching to Maple Leaf Foods or PBH because I think they will grow more.
What is 5I’s view on these two companies and making a switch
Q: My wife and I are 80 years old and we live off the dividends from our RRIF's which are totally invested in stocks as well as the CPP.
Looking ahead my wife who has not been involved in the stock market would have a difficult time managing on her own. With this in mind I am contemplating going from stocks for some or all and switching to ETF's covering the different market segments making a passive portfolio that would require little maintenance . Appreciate your thoughts on this strategy and what would be your favourite ETF's by market segment. Looking for approx 4% or higher dividend with little or moderate growth.

Q: CSU.DB:CA : fell almost 5% this morning, albeit on low volume. trivial . Such a drop is extremely unusual for this security. I do not follow Canadian markets and am wondering if this price drop is consistent with price changes in other similar interest sensitive securities this morning. Are you aware of any reason for such a drop? (I am restricted from CSU and SHOP common but have a large position in the debentures)
Q: good morning - further to a question last week about trading within a TFSA and limiting the number of trades to keep below CRA radar I am unclear on what constitutes a "trade". Is it buying and selling the same stock or does every purchase and every sale ( whether the same company or not) constitute a trade. Thanks
We're all aware over the past 9 months since the Pandemic became part of our every day life, on-line shopping has really taken off.
I am thinking Cyber Security is going to have to follow suit considering how much money is travelling through the internet. Do you agree this industry should see a considerable increase in opportunities & growth in the coming years? And if so, which companies would you suggest we take a look at if we want exposure to cyber security.
Q: Neo has been doing very well as of late. What are your thoughts about this company and fundamental views.
Is the rise warranted in your view and would you step in here.
You have better alternatives?
Q: With the recent action taken by the FDA in amending theIr existing emergency use authorisation to include hologic's PANTHER system FOR COVID-19 tests which I understand provides virtually instant results with 100% ACCURACY. !!!!

Q: intrigued by the volume and increase in price over the last week! do you still believe this is directly related to the last quarter figures or possibly some sort of M & A activity?

Q: With all these lawsuits, tariffs and inquisitions going on these companies due to their overall dominance / killing competition etc..How much is it affecting their ability to conduct business.. or the costs are so small, it is just a cost of doing business for these companies? Is it really impacting their revenues, profits etc..I can see it affects their ability to buy new businesses.. Thanks. Regards, Shyam
Q: I'm looking for some ideas on how to strengthen my healthcare holdings, which only account for 5% of my portfolio. I have a full position in NVO, half positions in CSH.UN and SIS, and have just started to build a position in the PSCH small cap health care fund. GUD and COV are technically present, but both are losers and small enough to ignore/sell.
Q#1: What additions/changes would you suggest for a retired person who is in pretty solid financial shape (5 year holding horizon, can tolerate some risk, but not aiming to shoot out the lights)?
Q#2: What percentage of the total portfolio would you aim to put in healthcare these days? It seems like there are a lot of developments in this field.

Q: What is the difference between DOC.WT:CNX and DOC.CA? Are there advantages/disadvantages to holding DOC.WT rather than DOC.CA? Appreciate your assistance here and the helpful guidance you give,
