Q: Can you please comment on pay out ratio based on cash flow versus earnings? Specifically, how long can a company continue paying out of cash flow when earning won't cover the distribution before it becomes a problem.

Q: Hi, Our investment portfolios across family are made up of a combination most companies from Balanced Portfolio, some from Income portfolio and a few others like CM(10%- reasons of affiliation), TD (3.5%), CWB(1.5%), JWEL(1.5%), RPI.un(2.5%). Objective is Mostly growth and income.
I am grateful to 5i research team for recommending companies like CSU,PBH,TOY,SIS, KWH.un and CCL.b and providing timely and consistent updates, resulting in substantial gains. Many of these successful companies would have escaped my attention, if not for your valuable advice.
My question is about a few stocks, listed in subject line, which, during my YTD review, continue to show decline in value (although we have in built gains in all of these). Except SYZ and ENB others are inside RRSP's. Does it make sense to liquidate a part of these holdings and deploy capital elsewhere ? Total value of above is about 15% of my portfolio with SYZ being the largest, 6% and GUD being the smallest,1%.
Thanks again for the excellent service !!

Q: PKI continues to drop. New lows today. Seems to have no traction at all. Anything to be overly concerned about?
Q: PKI is now hitting 52 week lows. Any news causing this?
Time to add to a position? Or does this look like a good candidate for tax loss selling and therefore more downside risk?

Q: Can you please shed some light as to why this stock seems to be on a free fall.
Could they be marketing an equity issue?

Q: Hi guys
My question earlier was a comparison of L brands to Parkland Fuel. Perhaps it was taken as Laurentian bank by mistake. Thank you for the quick response though.

Q: Happy Thanksgiving. What do you think about a switch from PKI to LB? Can you give me some pro's and con's for LB please. It would be a 2% position and it is held within a RRSP. I am down 11% on PKI right now. Thank You J
Q: Your thoughts on Parkland for a purchase now and a 3 year hold.
Q: In response to your Sept. 29 comment on Parkland, I'm wondering if it's time to get out? I am still ahead, but it looks like it must have been dead money for some time. It's in a TFSA, so any losses would not be claimable. Your advice would be welcome, Thanks.

Q: In your recent answer regarding 3 growth stocks in a TFSA you chose KXS,PBH,SIS. I wonder if you could elaborate on your thoughts about how you chose these. PKI, as an example seems, to have a good growth profile over the next 2 years and pays a nice dividend. Why not choose it.
I used the numbers provided by RBC Direct Investing below.

GC, AIF, BYD.UN, CAE, CLS, PKI, SYZ, or GSY, PHO, ECN,
thanks

Q: Hello Folks:
With it's increasing debt load what is your opinion on Parkland Fuel.... do you think there are better choices.
Would A. Touché Card, Canadian Tire or some other be better bets?
Thanks for everything

Q: Could you please recommend some small/mid cap stocks with good growth prospects, a reasonable valuation and insider ownership that you would be comfortable taking a position in at this time. I am interested in PKI and GUD if you feel those fit the above criteria but I am also interested in you input on any others. Thanks! - Rob
Q: Good morning, I am really concerned about PKI, do you see further downside and if so what is causing the selloff. Should I salvage the small profit I have left and try to get back in later/
Many thanks
Many thanks

Q: I am retired and living on dividend income. I going to initiate a position in PKI based on your outlook and now consider PKI a Strong Buy after another 4% drop since your Aug 1 comment:
Aug1- "The $3 decline in July seems a bit much to us, and its prospects remain good with its recent acquisitions. We would view it as a BUY up to a reasonable portfolio position."
Aug 3-"Analysts expect lower earnings for 2017 and very strong growth in 2018. We continue to like its long term prospects."
I'm really attracted to investing in companies like this. Companies that are financially strong and fair/under-valued. But impatient investors aren't willing to hold for the long term prospects and are selling off because the strong growth won't be realised for 6-12 months.
Can you identify other dividend paying companies in a similar situation, that are undervalued but should realise strong growth and therefore share price in the next 6-12 months.

Q: What do you think of PKI now that it has reported earnings? Is it a good buy now?
