Q: One report I read stated that to finance the acquisition PKI would issue 24 million shares to raise $660 million. That works out to $27.50 per share and the shares are currently trading near $31. In one of your earlier responses you also mentioned that shares would be issues at a discount. It would almost make sense for anyone like me who holds PKI to sell now into the market and buy back at the new issue price. Your thoughts?

Q: I am starting a TFSA for my wife, who is 5 years from retirement with an adequate pension. The stocks in question will be of equal weight. Your opinion on selection or other suggestion would be appreciated.
Thanks

Q: Can you give me your thoughts on Parklands just released Q4 report. While they seem to rave about the increase in cash flow, in fact it went down by a penny on a per share basis and they gave a very small increase in the dividend this year. I am holding on hoping that the big acquisition that will close in Q2 2017 will give a big boost to cash flow. Your thoughts please on both the earnings and the acquisition...

Q: Hi, Parkland Fuels stock reacted very well to CST Brands acquisition, a few months ago and stock traded as high as $31. Price has retreated to $27-$28 range recently. Is there any reason, in your view, which is keeping a lid on its price? There was also a guest on BNN recently who claimed to be short the stock. I had a position from before and added at $29. What do you think ? Thanks

Q: I am just about to set up my portfolio. I am following your balanced equity portfolio. Most will be put into TFSA. I have to select about 6 to go in non registered. Obviously these would be the ones I would expect lower returns. Which ones should I select? I plan to keep not touch these investments for 8 years.

Q: would you consider all of these stocks energy and oil related? How much of total weight would you give in this sector at this time? Would you consider 13% total too high in this sector?

Thanks

Q: I manage my husband's and my TFSA's as if they are one account so we do not duplicate the stocks in the 2 accounts and can have a reasonable size of position. We have a similar weighting of ALA, REI.UN, SIA, WSP, ZEB, BEP.UN, CGX, and HR.UN and PKI, and a double weighting of CPD and CDZ. We currently have about $110K in the two accounts and $20K of that is in cash. Can you suggest what we might add to or change in the above list, considering that we prefer income paying securities with some growth prospects and want the TFSA's to act independently of our other investments as a relatively conservative growth vehicle.

Q: In light of the big pipeline announcements today by the liberals could you please group the above stocks as to the winners and losers. e.g Big winner, Winner, No Effect, Loser and Big Loser. This is very topical and stave of some questions and be worthy of an article. I look for to your answers and advise as always.
