Q: Hi 5i,
Well, FRII sure proves that patience is a virtue, if holding on to a stock that lost 90% of its value almost immediately after it was purchased long enough (years, in fact) for it to recover 25% of the value that it lost can be considered virtuous!
Seriously though, I'm very glad to see that FRII is finally being bought as I've hoped it would be for years now (no matter that its being bought very cheap compared to what it was once thought to be worth) and I'm going to get at least some of my long-departed money back. My question is whether there is any possibility that the $2.30 / share it's apparently going for might possibly rise, or is that likely all there is? I ask because I don't really know how these things work and wonder if the public facing statements about the sale might cause another suitor to step forward with a higher offer. Or is there any likelihood that a shareholder with enough clout to object might say no to the money currently on the table and compel a different outcome?
Thanks for your thoughts 5i,
Peter

Q: Hello Peter and co,

I am doing a bit of overdue portfolio clean-up in a TFSA. (long time horizon) - considering selling these holdings and would like your thoughts:

GUD - loss of 28%, but it has moved up significantly the last few days. Keep, Sell now, or Wait (if it has further upside)?

FRII - 80% loss (ouch), but is up 65% since late Oct 2020. Keep, Sell now, or Wait?

FTG - 5% loss after years of holding, but is up 40% since late Oct 2020. Keep, Sell now, or Wait?

VSR - 40% loss, thought its prospects were compelling, but disappointed so far. Keep, Sell now, or Wait?

ENGH - 122% gain, but it has drifted lower since summer 2020. Keep, Sell now, or Wait?

Thanks again for your excellent service!

Q: Good morning,
Just looking over the real dogs I own and Freshii stands out as one of the baddest dogs of all (I bought it at around $9.00 a few years ago immediately after the investment arm of a certain bank had touted it as an outperformer destined for twice that - within a week it fell 50% and it's just kept right on falling) which leads me to ask: based on the available information what do you see for Freshii over the next 3 years or so? Has it got any future prospects worth waiting for at all, do you think? (My holding is in a reg'd account and is now worth very little so selling doesn't help with taxes and won't free up much cash to put elsewhere - I'm asking more out of interest than out of thinking I can actually accomplish anything with this cur.)
Thanks!
Peter
