Q: Hello Peter and Team,
I hold a large position in TELUS. But I'm concerned about the impact of a possible decision by the Canadian (or other) governments to refuse to accept the Huawei 5G system. Your thoughts? If I believe that Huawei will be rejected, would it be better to exit, or at least reduce, TELUS? Thanks in advance.

Q: I am thinking about adding IHI to my RRSP but understand that there may be a withholding tax given that it is a US based fund. What is a withholding tax, how much is it, and what are the implications when I go to file my canadian income tax? (I am relatively new to the investment world and don’t want things to get too complicated when having to report losses/ gains)
Thank you for your guidance.

Q: Hi 5i,
I have owned laurentian bank for 2 years and currently down 20% on initial purchase of a full position. It’s is held in tax free account and no additional funds to average down. Would it make sense to sell this stock and direct proceeds to other financials even though it pays a nice dividend. If so what would u recommend?
In your opinion Does it have any chance to recover or has this just become a lost opportunity and better to move on?
Thx

Q: After the failure of the harvest, it is undergoing pressure, and also from the maple sugar side. However, at $ 4.83 (close on Thursday) it now has a dividend over 7%. I know it isn't a growth stock, and I know it has high debt - notwithstanding that, for a dividend investor is this a reasonable safe dividend? Also, the second part of my question is whether there is SOME growth to be expected to return to its historical levels after a year or two when (hopefully) the problems are in the proverbial rear-view mirror?
Thanks! … Paul K
