Q: Hello Peter & team, I hold shares of BIP.un in my account and I know that the stock has splitted 3:2 last week. My online broker account reflects the new BIP.un share price but it doesn't show the new number of shares. It actually shows the exact same number of shares that I had before the split. Is it because it takes the online broker some time to make the adjustments? Thanks, Gervais

Q: Hi Peter and Gang,

My holdings in companies under the Brookfield brand (BAM.A, BBU.UN, BIP.PR, etc...) account for about 15% of my portfolio. Although these companies are in different businesses altogether, I am just wondering if there is too much concentration on the Brookfield brand. Your thoughts and comments would be appreciated.

Harry

Q: Good Morning 5I team, I have been building a cash position and would like your opinion on these stocks/etf to add to a mostly buy and hold dividend generating portfolio.

Q: Hi 5i,
Although they have both been good investments, it seems that since 2010 BIP units have outperformed BEP units by a decent margin. Are the profit margins lower in BEP's focus area or is there something about the energy project investment arc that delays returns in the renewable energy space? I'm wondering what the BIP unit outperformance is attributable to and whether it is a factor that is likely to continue or whether, in the future, BEP is more likely to keep pace, or even to do a little catch-up. I'd be interested in any thoughts you may have on this. Thanks!

Q: Hi 5i team,

As infrastructure in various countries are now in an expansion/renewal phase, infrastructure stocks may be the new 'utility' stocks of the future. I currently already owned BIP.un. Given the current market conditions, please recommend some Canadian or US listed infrastructure stocks or ETFs that are worth investing in now. Thanks

Q: Which of the Brookfield funds do you prefer for a retirement income portfolio. I'm looking for something with reliable income and some capital growth. Is this a good time to buy any of these funds as they have had quite a run, should I wait for a pull back?
Thanks

Q: This group currently is 16 % of an otherwise diversified portfolio (mostly ETFs representing global diversification), worth BAM (4%), BEP (4%), BIP (8%). BIP holding since its original spinoff. I am loath to trim any of these performers (isn't that a bit like pulling the flowers and watering the weeds?) - Long term comparative charts indicate that they are fairly correlated, however, so is my weighting in this group too big ?

Q: Could I get your opinion of the new BIP.UN preferred issue (series 5, reset with floor of 5.35%)? Would you agree with the S&P rating of P-2 low? I already hold both BIP.UN and BEP.UN in the Brookfield group. What would you consider to be the maximum percentage (based on total portfolio value) for BIP.UN + BIP pfd, and would you include BEP.UN in the total or view it as completely different, regardless of ultimate ownership?

Thank-you

Q: Hi Peter,
Enghouse has not been doing well. Do you still like it for long term hold? Any idea why Brookfield Bussiness Partners is going up today? Also, does recent announcement of Brookfield raising $14 B for the Global infrastructure Fund refer to BGI.UN? If so, is it better to invest in BGI.UN or BIP. UN? Lastly, Telecom stocks are stable but the PEs are quite high. Can you shed some light please? Thanks
