Q: I like Daniel Drimmer and have made some good gains with his companies. I re-purchased a small position in TNT.UN after selling the previous variant into a takeout offer, if my memory serves. My question: Is TNT.UN worth a long term hold? Is the strategy of taking its lumps by stopping the dividend until recently going to lead to future growth?

Q: I hold a small position in BCE. My thinking is that other than the dividend (yield), it is pretty much "dead" money for the foreseeable future. I could replace it with Telus, but I'm not impressed with its performance over the last few years. Taking sector & industry out of the equation, are there some other stocks that you like better [preferably with the potential for growth / share price appreciation & a (growing) dividend] that trade around the same price as BCE or less? Thanks once again for your great service.

Q: Hi Peter and 5i Team,

What do you make of this from the Globe & Mail for Friday, June 20? “CRTC upholds decision allowing large telecoms to resell internet services on each other’s networks”

This decision looks like it will benefit Telus. I recently sold BCE at a loss because I had lost all confidence in their ability to turn things around, especially by keeping their current CEO. However, we still hold Telus and a small amount of Quebecor. Do you think that the CRTC decision could negatively impact QBR.B?

If so, I’m considering selling it and deploying the proceeds to T, to stay in the same sector. QBR.B has given us a nice return in the short time we’ve owned it. Your thoughts?

You recently answered my question about Ts plans to improve infrastructure by spending 70 billion dollars over the next five years. Is it possible that the CRTC decision could mitigate some or all of the risk caused by this planned expenditure?

Thanks as always for your insight.

Q: WELL is currently 1.3% of our portfolio. Your most recent comment put WELL in the "show me" category. With the price currently sitting close to the 52 week low and only a 1.3% position, do you think it would be worth another small nibble - either for a long term hold, or as a swing trade? Or better to just sit tight?

Thanks.

Q: Can you recommend stocks which might take advantage of large battery technology such as for utilities and renewable energy?

Does anyone have moat like advantages within this area?

Or, is there a more subtle play here?

Thanks

Good afternoon,

I have some US dollars available for investment, and I currently hold the following four stocks in my US RRSP.

Could you please advise which of these you would consider the most attractive investment opportunity at this time?

I'm also open to any other recommendations you believe are worth considering.

Thank you in advance for your insights,

Martin

Q: I’ve held BIP-UN for a long time in my TFSA and RIF accounts and done well with the stock with growth plus a nice dividend. Lately the stock seems to be stuck in the $45.00 range. Looking to divest half position and replace with ALA/KEY or going to more of a growth stock like DFY. Another possibility it to buy more of BN. I currently have half position in both BN and BAM.
If you have any other suggestion I’ll consider that too.
Thanks for all the past help to create a nice balanced account.

Q: Hi, I got in when it was supposedly cheap, at about $12.80. It's now hovering at around $8. As a non-resident, selling for tax losses doesn't apply. As you wrote recently that you're not fans of investing to break even, do you have any opinions on possible moves? Sell some at a loss to invest in better stocks, hold for a while and see what happens with tariffs, hold for a longer period of time as this is a good stock and we'll pay off over the next couple years? Thank you for your time.
