Q: Are these two sort of similar? If so would they be competitors?

Also is the environmental sector growing? The need to clean the air n' stuff?

5i Research Answer:

BRM is a clean tech company that designs and manufactures air emissions control systems (biofilters, scrubbers, for industrial facilities), while CECO is a much larger diversified environmental solutions provider with systems for emission control, water treatment, etc. There is some overlap in their solutions and end markets, but CECO has a broader service portfolio, a larger global reach, and it serves more markets (power, oil and gas, battery production, wastewater) that BRM does not serve.

The environmental sector is growing due to regulation and sustainability trends, particularly as governments around the world continue to tighten air, water, and waste regulations.
