Q: Hi 5i.
Earlier in the year, my investment group decided to follow the theme of military and defense stocks, with the Russia/Ukraine war already well underway. We came up with a few smaller specialty companies that we thought might benefit from restocking arms and ammunition, war logistics, etc. Each has had a decent run so far this year. Wondering if you could provide a quick assessment of these companies and if you have any other ideas related to this theme. Also, what are your favourite large cap names in this space and maybe an ETF?
Thanks!

Q: Closed at 2.33 yesterday, then shortly after the company releases a prelim for Q3 of better than expected results than previously announced. They gave numbers that told an obvious story of improvement in all aspects. I consider this a load up scenario. I know your position is generally conservative but in this case isn't this a rare opportunity to buy in cheap with them giving you a glimpse of what is to come.
Q: Never my favourite bank; but now, with a yield of almost 7%, it has caught my attention. Are there risks here that I am not seeing specific to CIBC as opposed to banks in general?
Q: Dear 5i
Could you please confirm the MER's for the above stated high interest funds and that the stated 12 month yield is net of the MER . Also is it more important to go with the fund with the higher yield or the fund with the tighter bid/ask spread or the fund with the tighter 52 week differential or try to determine the best when considering all three factors knowing there is some compromises ?
Thanks

Q: I'm interested in investing in a basket of companies that you think have the ability to increase their dividends even in a recessionary environment. Could you please send me some of your favourite ETF's that would give me exposure to these kinds of companies. If possible could you suggest ones that give me the necessary exposure to:
Canadian companies
American companies
International companies.
Thanks for your appreciated support.
Q: Hi, Can you please provide your opinion on current valuation, growth prospects and a decent entry level to start a new position? It was mentioned that stock has seen a run up in its price and may need to consolidate. Actually, just within last 10 days, it has shot up almost 10%, since it was added to 5i Growth Portfolio ( Kudos to your team for the Great selection and Excellent timing !!! }. Thank You
Q: Have you had time to review the short report from Culper on Xpel. What are your thoughts on their claims and whether this is an opportunity or signs of smoke where there may be more fire? Thx
I have small positions in the following technology companies: GIB.A; CRWD; HUBS; NVEI: OKTA;TOI:PANW: INTU: TTD: LMN. I would like to clean up this portion of my portfolio. Which of these would you sell, and which ones would you add to? Thanks for your ongoing great advise.
Q: Adding new money into the Income Portfolio- Hello, I am adding new money to the Income Portfolio in my TFSA. Would you suggest/list the top 5is ( 5 investments!!) timely buys at this time, with a time frame of 2-3 years and overall return perspective?
Also, would you consider making this a feature in monthly portfolio reports - like top 2-3 buys? Thanks
Q: further to yesterday's question from Arnold-----there are two articles re BIP.UN in Seeking Alpha yesterday re BIP.UN. Do you have any comments on the opinions and do you have any information on buyback from Brookfield on this stock.
