Q: I would like to increase my international exposure to the stock market. Can you suggest some ETFs that meet that criteria. Moderate risk level.

I have seen VXUS recommended a lot, so I am considering that. Just want to have 2 more choices so I can compare before buying one of them.

Q: Good morning.

I have a sizeable amount of US dollars in my TFSA and RRIF accounts and intend to add international investments with that money. I can either just purchase the XEF.u with the US money or go thru the Norbert Gambit process to convert to canadian dollars and then buy the XEF ETF. My question is which would you recommend and also buying XEF.u in my TFSA which I believe is a Canadian listed ETF would there be a 15% US withholding tax on the dividends.

Many thanks.

Q: With interest rates potentially going lower in the US I was wondering about your crystal ball thoughts on where this ETF might peak this cycle ? I bought in when it cratered a couple years ago.

Q: Quite a “Bullish” article on NBIS by Benzinga. Not sure if I believe it all however I’m definitely holding. Thank you very much for bringing this company to our (5i’s members) attention.

Q: Hi 5 i Team - First a general question. Sometimes EPS are negative while EBITDA is positive. Could you explain how each is calculated and which one is the more important marker.
Specifically this applies to AIDX's recent report where EPS was -2cents but EBITDA was $1.9 million.
Also is AIDX a company completely on its own or a subsidiary of another one.
Thanks.

Q: Around what price would you recommend taking a starter position in NBIS? I read yesterday that they are cancelling 40 million shares and are authorizing a 20% buyback on class A shares, yet not much movement today in price action. Further, are there any options strategies you would recommend for these growth-oriented companies?

Q: It was announced today that Trump fired a Federal Reserve governor (Lisa Cook). Jerome Powell's term will end in May 2026. It seems Trump is really pushing for lower interest rates, and my question are::
1) If bond investors start to lose faith that the Fed will be able to control inflation, can the Fed still lower rates?
2) If inflation starts to take off again, is it better to be in stocks? If so, what sectors should people hide in?
3) Would you make any big changes to portfolio weightings or cash positions at this time?

Q: My spouse and I have a joint investment account and any capital gain/loss or income generated in this account is reported on a 50/50 basis.
We currently hold 3 CDR in the account for a total ACB of $180,000 CAD.
Can we assume that individually we own $90,000 worth of foreign property and skip filling form T1135 or do we have to file because the account itself is over the $100,000 threshold?

Q: Hi,

Every month, I buy some VEQT as part of a dollar cost averaging strategy. It seems, however, that every month my purchase price is higher than the previous month. It keeps going up and up - and I'm getting leery.

I know you can't provide personal advice but, generally speaking, would you continue to proceed in this manner. Or are there other variations of dollar cost averaging in a rising market? Other strategies to consider?

Presumably, one could make a larger purchase up front. But when the funds come from my monthly salary, that's harder to do.

Thanks,
Robert
