Q: Hi 5iTeam,
When evaluating a stock for a possible position, among other factors, how much weight would you put on "short interest as % of flow" and reasons for your answer.

Q: Has your view on EQB changed since May? Seems like a decent time to get in???

Q: I own a lot of ER stock in a non-registered account. Even with the run up in price with the announced takeover bid by AUG, I have a considerable Capital Loss. I would like to capture that loss but remain exposed to any further upside that this deal MAY unlock if it comes to fruition. 1) Does it make sense to sell my ER shares now and immediately purchase AUG with the proceeds......this should keep my exposure 100% intact would it not? 2) I assume that because the deal is not done and the two stocks are completely different entities that this would NOT be deemed a superficial loss......is that correct? 3) is it very likely that ER may receive a better bid from someone else and I would lose out by switching the shares to AUG? 4) What would you do in my situation?

Q: Hello, in the company profile of PHY and CEF, it says that their Industry Classifications - Sector is Financial Services. I was a bit surprised to see that. Could you explain why these ETFs are classified under Financial Services rather than Basic Materials? Thanks, Gervais

Q: I cannot fathom why investors would buy rate reset preferreds when the resets will virtually all significantly lower their current dividend. The MINIMUM rate resets, to my mind, are the only preferreds to buy and there are many good companies paying between 5 3/4% and 7% and this rate will not drop. Additionally, if and when rates increase they could be paying an even higher dividend. No one seems to ask about minimum rate resets! Am I missing something?

Q: Hello 5i team,

I am looking to add both of these "out of favor" stocks in my non-registered account, weighing whether these are current value plays that are candidates for growth over the long term. I have been following their general trend for several weeks looking for an opportunity for a reasonable entry point. Over the last two trading days in July, both stocks have dropped more than the general market and their respective sectors.

What factors does the 5i team attribute to these very short term drops? Do these factors indicate further drop is likely in the short term?

What factors do you consider worthy of weighing? In your opinion what would be a good point to patiently await to own both of these stocks?

In particular its cash balance, debt level, insider ownership and recent activity, cash flow, P/E as well as anticipated P/E, and anything else you think is relevant. Also your opinion on its growth prospects and do you think these growth prospects rely completely on the future of the energy sector. Do you think Questor has the ability to outlast a sustained energy downturn. I ask this as an existing shareholder considering selling part of my position (at a substantial loss) and allocating the money somewhere else. Q: Hello 5i Could you comment on the effect of Route 1 ROI announcing June 1/20 that they won a contract to supply the state of California the state-of-the-art Automatic License Plate Recognition ("ALPR") system that will enhance officer safety.
They seem to have good technology but the stock price languishes.
