Q: I have held BYD for years and for most of that time its share price has moved up on a consistent basis. However now almost every day its share price goes down. Are you aware of any reason for this downturn? Would selling be wise? There are lots of good alternatives to Boyd.

Q: Have held for about a year now and up nicely so far, need your analysis on dividend safety growth prospects and tailwinds on the horizon? Echelon has it as a top 20 for 2020 with a $3.30 PT. What are your views please.
Thanx Gary

Q: Any thoughts on why the recent surge of trading volume at BPY? Where does such a volume increase come from? Why now?
Thanks

Q: I would like to pick a few names from your income portfolio for my child’s RESP. She is 13 years now, so, I don’t have the safety of very long term hold. Can you short list the top 5 that pose minimum risk of value and dividend decline in that time frame?
Q: Your thoughts on ADW.A as it slips downward even further today. Why such disfavor in the market place? A good point to buy with a loner time frame? With thanks, gary
Q: With Altus separating the losing Geomatics from the company this should help the bottom line I assume.Jim
Q: I have held this former income stock in my RSP for many years waiting for a recovery. Seems they have made minor progress in debt reduction. I am 15% underwater since inception.
Time to dump this apparently dead money?

Q: Have to raise cash - the above are my poorest performers (SIS is negative). Have to sell 1 & 1/2 positions. What do you suggest I sell.
Thanks for all the great performers you have named.

Q: your latest report shows a 12% inside positn but Bloomberg shows only 2.7% which is correct? Thx
Q: Are the EPS estimates on the 5i company profile pages accurate? I noticed a significant difference between the SHOP EPS estimates provided in answers and the EPS estimates on the 5i company profile page for SHOP.
Here's the example:
Question Asked by Kerri on January 22, 2020
5I RESEARCH ANSWER:
SHOP Feb 12; $0.24 EPS; $481M revenue.
I'm guessing this is the estimate for QTR1 (12/19)
5i Company profile page for SHOP
Current Estimate
QTR1 (12/19) -0.21,
QTR2 (03/20) -0.30
FY1 (12/19) -1.24
Why so different?

Q: I will admit to being mildly nervous about SHOPs rate of growth over the past couple of months. I'm now more than 300% over my PP. As it recently broke through $500 CAD/share ... and now, $600 CAD/share ... I'm feeling pressured to keep trimming to 5% of my portfolio. Is this merely an analogue of the CSU "story" (whose stock price, incidentally, appears to be moving into "new territory")? I'm curious to know your thoughts about these developments. Thanks.
Q: Watching them for a few months now and would appreciate your analysis of this specialty retailer. Do you see the dividend as safe and do you think there are sufficient tailwinds to keep them on an upward climb?

Q: EGLX is moving to the TSX is this worth conidering as a medium term investment
Q: What do you think of Nutrien here, is it a buy?
Q: I am a retired, conservative, dividend-income investor who is normally fully invested with a "buy-and-hold, but trim-add around core positions" strategy.
I currently have 2% in investable cash, with my portfolio set up exactly where I want it now...good asset allocation both via sectors and via individual position sizes.
However, I am also looking at the macro picture and things seem to be going parabolic. I am contemplating trimming to increase my cash position from 2% up to 5%. I understand in the past you have indicated that the key things to watch are interest rates are unemployment. They are both low, so "let it ride". So, what to do...let it ride vs trim? I know this amounts to market timing, which I know you are not fond of and, coincidentally, I am lousy at.
In your past life, as a fund manager, when did you raise or invest your available cash and what factors pushed you to do something or to just sit on your hands?
Thanks...sitting on my hands for now...Steve

Q: Hello, this is about WEF labor dispute. Is there something new regarding the strike, is there an end in sight? Should one expect a good rebound in price once the strike is over? Would that make sense to buy now at the current price? Thanks, Gervais
