Q: MCan Financial is selling 1.6M shares at $15.40 to raise $25M. This is about 5% of their market cap. What is your feeling on this dilution and how do you see it affecting their dividend? I have enjoyed their high dividend for many years and am now wondering if this is a worrisome sign, or is it a cheaper way to raise operating capital? The drop today brings the price to close to the $15.40 mark. Do you expect the price to fall further once the offering is closed and people try and sell their shares?

Q: Hello, I am tempted to buy ATD to round up my consumer stocks allocation, for a long term hold (10+ years). I am less comfortable with their future with EVs. Did they ever develop and comunicated their vision when vehicles would be mostly EVs? What is your opinion of their future (after 2035)? Thanks.
Q: In your response to Pat today for dividend growth ETFs would you consider DGRC as a viable investment option in Canada? It is underweight financials but heavy in energy. Maybe that is a function of energy having better dividend growth than financials over the past few years.
Q: Recently, I’ve noticed that Canadian inflation has been more subdued compared to the United States. Given this observation, I’m wondering if it’s reasonable to interpret that Canada might reduce interest rates sooner than the U.S. If this holds true, and considering my intention to purchase more U.S. stocks, would it be advisable for me to start acquiring more U.S. dollars at this time?
Your insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your guidance.

Q: Received a Class Action Notice from XBC..CA regarding a proposed class action settlement, which reads in part:
"SUMMARY OF THE SETTLEMENT:
On October 19, 2023, the Superior Court of Québec (“Court”) approved the settlement of this class action.
Under the Settlement, CAD $5,000,000 (the “Settlement Amount”) has been paid in full and final settlement of all claims against the Defendants, including Class Counsel’s fees, applicable taxes and expenses, and interest, in exchange for a full release and settlement of the class action."
Number of shares purchased was 800 @$10. Would you know the approximate number of shares that were outstanding at the time (Nov 10 2019 to Mar 24 2021) and In your experience, is it worth it to submit a claim?
Many thanks.

Q: I'm thinking of journaling the above inter-listed securities over to my US RSP account as a currency play (I'm expecting CAD weakness vs USD over next 1-2 years). Other than CAD dividend exchange rate fees, are there other caveats to be aware of with any of these securities specific to their US listings? I.e. liquidity on NYSE? Thank you.
Q: Please comment on the latest results and guidance going forward.Txs for u usual great services & views

Q: Is there a US dollar version of these that would not have the 15% withholding tax?
Thanks for all your great work

Q: The company is an interesting profitable small cap. Looking at their income statement bad expense is a large component of total revenue. I believe they deal in giving smaller high risk loans. Is their business model sustainable and scalable ? If you like what would be good entry point ?
Q: Is this stock the NVDA of trucking companies?

Q: I recently bought into Klaviyo as a speculative play based on Shopify having a significant stake in it. In looking at its quarterly report with my untrained laymen analysis skills, am I correct in thinking that things seem to be going okay with this company? I’d appreciate your thoughts about where, provided things go well, this company is going in the future? (Steady grower, volatile changes, buy out candidate) Are there any comparables?
Thank you for the great service!

Q: In the US last week, there was a landmark agreement with the National Realtors Association that should change the way commissions are determined across the board. There should be more competition with lower commissions. Can you comment on how the decision and the new direction might impact the housing market here in Canada and what impact it may have on companies in the real estate buy/sell market? What companies might be affected? How big might the impact be? Who could be winners and losers?
Q: I am looking for a good dividend payer in a non-registered account. The industry does not really matter but a stable dividend and preferably a growing dividend would be important for the next 3 years.
Would Cascades be a good bet? If it is, what would be a reasonable entry point for price?
Thank you.

Q: Can you comment of report that SHOP CEO is up for a $200m stock bonus? The Globe mentions it may be based on performance of the stock price itself. Does the CEO need this type of incentive considering he already owns 40% of the company?
Q: Why it keeps falling.
Thanks,

Q: What is the difference between a and b shares?
Q: I keep reading and stock keeps growing. Would you buy at current price, as likely not getting a pull back and what weighting would you consider. Cheers!

Q: Good Evening
Why is it that only American analysts recommend selling a stock and not Canadian analysts ?
For instance the three analysts that recommend selling Fortis are all American.
Thank you
