Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: I need to lighten up on techy/growth stocks and replace with more defensive/value names. Of this list, are there any you would sell? If not, and if I wanted to sell something anyway, in what order would you suggest selling? Thank you.

Q: For a very un-promotional Company, EcoSynthetix stock continues to climb now trading at 10-year highs with increasing daily volumes. With revenues rising, it seems the potential for their green adhesive products is real given they have commercial accounts with major companies. Your thoughts?

Q: Would like a current opinion on this mutual fund?
Is the fees worth the returns or would a global ETF perform better?
Greatly appreciate your opinion.

Q: Good morning,

Truly enjoy reading your reports and answers to queries asked by members!

In your response to Chris, on April 8th, you outline a starting strategy for a young 16 year old investor.

You state: "we might start out with a broad market ETF that pays a dividend"

Would you be comfortable listing a few broad market ETF that fit this criteria taking into account a 10 year lock up of the funds?

Perhaps suggesting a few for high, moderate and low risk tiers.

Have a great weekend!

Q: Hi 5i,
Farmland is an asset class that seems to be drawing greater interest for diversification. Do you follow the sector and have an opinion on companies like Farmland Partners or Gladstone Land?

Thank you!

Q: Hello Team 5i,

I recently sold GUD, my only CDN. or US. Health Care holding. Could you recommend one or more replacements for me? Not sure what your current suggested health Care portfolio weighting should be but that might figure into your response.

I read something recently that indicated that the S&P/TSX Health Care index is down 58% between March 2021 and 2022, might that be correct? If so, would you say this would be a good time to be buying?

Thanks for your wisdom
