Q: Hi Peter,
is it a good idea to buy BAM-A.TO before record date of June 18-2021 as they are spin off with brookfield reinsurance on June 28-2021?
and if someone buy 100 shares today how much he will get on june 28?
Thank you for your great service.

Q: In answer to a buy/hold/sell inquiry you answered "We would give it a higher risk HOLD rating right now. "
What exactly does this mean?
Is there a point at which a higher risk hold becomes a lower risk hold and then a buy?
What should I read anything into the fact that the hold was capitalized?
How many categories of hold are there?

Q: About 25% of my portfolio is in cash, enough for 5 years of cash needs. The problem is that it earns only 0.2%. Now I am thinking of putting this cash in 5 or more high quality Bond ETFs. Is this a right move? If so, could you give few names? Thanks.
Q: I perceive a change in Bitcoin/crypto sentiment - El Salvador, other LatAm countries, now India is changing it's tune......
Rather than own cryptocurrencies outright, I'm looking for more torque on their appreciation. Would you consider either of these companies to be a good way to leverage any appreciation of the underlying cryptocurrencies? I understand this is a double-edge sword.

Q: A question on PPL, specifically regarding the potential for it having to tap the debt markets, possibly in a very material way, given its ambition to close on IPL, build out LNG growth with its plans announced yesterday, and its rumoured desire to bring TMX in-house as well. Could they actually achieve this - financially - from the base where they sit today? Would it be wise to take a position in this ambitious set of (possible) plans, or would the debt simply be too much for the rating agencies to like, and therefore be an overhang on the stock?

Q: Hi,
I was sitting on a nice gain with DNG and because I am concerned about increasing political risk in Peru I decided to take the profit and sell. I would still like something in my portfolio that gives me exposure to gold. Preferably on the conservative side and with a dividend. What would your suggestions be?
Thanks

Q: Peter and His Wonder Team
I have owned this stock for years and am currently even.
I am not sure if I should sell and be happy that I got my money back. I know you were positive about this stock years ago and then were disappointed. The stock has done well recently. So please give me your current opinion about there current strength. Would you rate it a buy, sell or hold? Thanks as usual!

Q: In my last question you suggested VXUS for international diversification. Unable to buy in either TFSA or non registered accounts. I transferred all my U$ to C$ before the increase
In exchange rate, there is no reason for me to own U$ . At my age my expenditures are in C$.
Justlokking for an alternative to cash. I’m like the 80 year old in a question in g&m a couple of days ago, why invest when you’ve got enough.
I’ve accumulated a lot of cash in TFSA by selling outback in May at good profit after a health
scare.
Still investing in a portfolio that will leave my wife well situated.
Just in case you don’t know the stocks in registered and unregistered. Here they are: aqn, bam, bns, byd, cae, car.un,ecn, eif, enb, mg,pbh, slf,t,TFII,vdy,VFV,vgg, vvl, wasp.
I consider most of them sold except for smaller investment in byd and eif, but I don’t think they are going broke anytime soon.
Thank you for your excellent advise in the past and hope to be around to take advantage of your advise a little longer. Even though I’m an experienced investor it’s great to have an unbiased opinion such as years Peter. I was sort of hoping that would get to Toronto again and get a chance to talk to you .
All the best.

Q: May I please have your current assessment of Canada Nickel? I assume it will require a huge capital raise or joint venture to create a mine of this potential size. Do you see any major problems currently or on the horizon for this early stage company?

Q: Hi, Recent chatter on 5i suggests Topicus shares as Bargain at $44 and Very Attractive at $25 (Based on present Sales), while it is currently trading at $78 after touching a High of $94. So two Questions:
1. Is the stock Expensive at current valuation ($78-$80) or a Good Buy ?
2. If we need to revisit Constellation Software, let's say 10 yrs ago, when stock traded in $80-$90 range, did CSU stock look Expensive or different from TOI's valuation Today ?
I am trying to visualize TOI from the same lens as CSU ( and its history) and make a reasonable assumption and investment decision, although CSU performance may not necessarily be replicated.
Thank You

Q: Hello 5i,
Income value investor with some growth stocks. Just received 16 shares of OGN. At 75 years I don't think I want to wait for "maybe" some growth. No dividend either. I would just sell them and by a few more MRK. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Q: What are your thoughts on FOOD? - valuation looks good and their results are positive, however the stock keeps trending down. I have a small position (around 1000 shares @ $6). I feel it will make a run at some point and do like the company and will likely hang on to it for the medium term. Thank you
Q: Typical market reaction to financing. Who are the main backers of this company and does 5i still see long term potential . Thanks Steve
