Q: Hi 5i Wonder Team,

Can you recommend your top three energy companies (US or Canada) with a solid balance sheet and generous dividend?
I need to round out my portfolio with some energy.

Q: I'm getting worried about this one because of the seemingly constant downward spiral in the stock price. It is a large position for me, one I have held for years, but I can't help feeling that i am missing something. It is down in a big way even today, when most of my interest sensitive stock are up. Are you aware of anything that is causing this downdraft? or anything that could come up to account for it? When is there earnings report? Do you know who is doing most of the selling - Is it just one or two major funds or a bunch of small trades? Just looking for any hint of a problem.

Q: Dear 5i
Do most or all high interest savings accounts pay distributions monthly or quarterly ? How would you rate the above ones that i've listed ? Do you have to be a little cognizant of when you buy them as i see the price can fluctuate slightly throughout the day ? Are you best to buy the one with the highest % distribution or a combination of % distribution and the smallest 52 week high /low spread ?
Take as many points as necessary as i have multiple questions and lots of points .

Q: Hello 5i
Your analysis tells me that i am underweight in basic materials. I have been thinking about buying more of Stella Jones, which i already own. But, as you will know, it has had a pretty good run recently. So, i was then wondering about looking for a good prospect that has been more beaten down and with a good chance of a rebound. Would you go with SJ, or would there be a better choice, either in Canada or US? Dividend doesn't matter. I have a feeling that this isn't a bad time to be looking at basic materials. Would you agree with that?

Q: Could you please outline the main risks to Dream Industrial REIT. I am also confused because over 2.5 years their P/E has gone from 4 to 24, yet their stock price has dropped (~$16 to $13) and their earnings have increased (as I understand it). Please correct me if I am wrong. Also, do I have it right that their NAV is ~$17? Do you know their average interest costs and if/when that might increase significantly? Other than those debt questions, and the sector, I'm wondering what I'm missing with this stock continuing to drop. Thank you.

Q: Hello 5i,

Krr may have reported recently? What is your take on their progress? It seems that share count has gone up and margins worsened over the period. Revenue seems to be growing but earnings seem to be getting worse. Or is the company's more positive spin a better reflection of KRR's prospects? What are their all in costs of production. Is this improving? Is the management inexperienced? Hold or Sell?

Q: I'm thinking it might be a good idea to buy some inflation linked government bonds especially long dated either US or Canadian via an ETF Would appreciate your suggestions on specific ETFs and thoughts re short term vs long. My thinking is if inflation is here for longer than we expect and I have inflation linked bonds it's probably the best way to protect myself.

Q: Upcoming Webinar with Peter - Tuesday, October 17th. I see that it appears TD is a sponsor of this webinar, due to their logo appearing on the announcement. As well, the TD colour of green is quite prominent. I find this a bit concerning. 5i sells itself as being totally neutral and independent and not swayed by others in their opinion. How are we customers to view this? How can 5i be fully neutral in their assessment on a company like TD when they are probably receiving something in exchange for the right of TD to have their logo and colour front and central? 5i has always rated TD as a top bank stock along with RY. This sponsorship kind of clouds the authenticity of this opinion. Can you please state what your position is?
