Q: Hi 5i Team - From an article I recently read there has been significant insider buying at Liberty Gold. Could you check this out and also provide an up-to-date report on the company's balance sheet, recent happenings, and exploration potential.
Thanks.

5i Research Answer:

In September and October insiders bought about (net) 800,000 shares. It is a good indicator, but keep in mind with the shares at 27c the dollar amount here is not hugely signififcant. Shares have been drifting lower regardless, now down 53% for the year. There is not a whole lot of news. Cash is about $10M, prior to a financing in September of about $5M. No revenue yet. Its large scale projects continue to move forward, with large potential reserves. But, even in a best case scenario, there is no mine here until at least mid 2027. Lots of money will need to be spent to get to that point, and a bit of luck with drilling is needed as well. There is potential, sure, but lots of risk. LGD will need more capital on an ongoing basis, and its small size means more dilution to raise money (i.e. if it needs $10M more shares need to be issued if the stock is at 27c than if it was a $1.00). Even with recent insider support, tax loss selling we think is likely here as we move to year end. We would wait on this one.
