Q: Any thoughts you have on MAXQ would be appreciated. Anything positive or is it simply a lottery ticket? Have they at least met any of their own internally generated progress schedules? Finally is there any link between MDA and MAXQ?

Q: With Tariffs coming in USA Inflation will be headed higher. No hope for J Powell to reduce rates. This is not good for stock Market that wants lower rates. Your Thoughts ? RAK
Q: Interested in your thoughts on the potential US Tariff impact on SOBO and other pipelines.
Given the lack of access to alternative markets for WCSB crude/liquids ,the fact that volumes are contracted for the long term and the demand from US refiners for what is already discounted feedstock - I would think that the impact would be small in the short term. Realized price for product may be further discounted leading to a drilling/supply response and ultimately lower volumes but with a 10% tariff this is probably not a significant factor in the short/medium term. Your thoughts??
Thanks

Q: Hello 5i
I'm hearing noise about a rotation away from the Mag7 type companies. Could I have your perspective please?
Also what are the expected EPS growth for each of the MAG7 for 2025?
Thank you so much!

Q: Hi Peter and Team,
Our Industrial holdings are too high, considering their vulnerability to the “Trump tariffs”, as you suggested in a question today from Shirley.
In what order would you reduce or sell any of these stocks? This is a daunting task, as I like them all, and they are among the “cream of the crop” in this sector.
I’m planning to use the proceeds to buy some US small and mid-cap ETFs and would appreciate any Canadian domiciled ETFs that you could suggest.
Thanks for your insight.

Q: Do US politicians have to declare any and all securities that they buy/sell? Or is it only required if they buy/sell over a certain dollar value (or % of a company)?
What about the rules for Canadian politicians?

Q: What is your opinion of this ETF? The performance history is really good beating the S&P and others over the last 10 years. They have had a couple of splits in the past and hold about 235 stocks in total. I looked at the top holdings and they are almost the same as the VOO /VFV. Would this be a good sub for the VFV or VOO? The price per unit is low

Q: Hi Team,
TTD is plunging after earnings so far this afternoon. What's your take? Has the outlook here soured that quickly? Would you be a buyer, seller, or hold into this extreme weakness?
Thanks,
Shane.

Q: Hello 5i Team,
I have been contemplating selling my PKI shares and putting the proceeds into CNQ to boost my dividend income in a non-registered account. Two questions: First, do you think this is a good swap based on the fundamentals/growth prospects of each company? Second, given yesterday's news regarding Simpson Oil's legal victory, should I wait to see if the rally in PKI's share price continues? Current market cap of PKI is $6.5B, but apparently PKI turned down an offer to buy the company last summer which would have valued the company at $8B. If another offer comes forward from Simpson following this legal victory, I'm thinking there may be significant more upside in the share price (the 52-week high for PKI is around $48). Your thoughts on selling PKI now vs. waiting?
Much appreciated,
Brian

Q: I remember 20 years ago when I was in university, my brother and I would always say if only we had bought Apple last year because now it’s way too expensive. I have a feeling Shopify now may be a similar situation… That is why I have been accumulating at higher and still higher share prices…
Thank you 5i

Q: In your answers to question about tariffs on aluminum and steel you suggested that Canadian producers will get hurt as well as US customers who will face higher prices. Are there US suppliers who might benefit if they have excess capacity? Which companies might be in this category?
Thanks

Q: SHOP was all over the map yesterday. Started premarket at $US 123, then down to 109 after results released, then rose through afternoon and closed at 123 on HUGE volume. I see this morning on TD there have been 14 analysts weighing in this week with 9 buys and 5 holds. Can you parse through all this and provide what you feel is happening now and will happen going forward. There is no doubt SHOP is the real thing but how does this translate to stock performance?
