Q: I was curious to know your perspective on Linamar and its current trading price during this risk-off market. The CEO has been buying 4 million dollars worth of shares at a higher price level and the last earning call seemed good. Albeit in a very cyclical sector, Analyst's conscientious is upwards of 100$/share. I want to increase my allocation to the industrial sector before the infrastructure bills go through. Would LNR be a good Candidate at this price point or are there better opportunities today that catch 5i's eyes? Thank you as always.

Q: Once the unsettled state of the market suggested by today's gapping down on the DIA, QQQ and IWM (i.e. as of noon, at least) steadies, would you favour a purchase of NYCB as a steady source of $U.S. income or would you think that BNS:NYSE (for example) could be preferable (i.e. at least for a margin, hence, taxable account)?
Thanks,
Thanks,
Q: On Holding AG (ONON). I see these shoes becoming quite popular. It recently IPO'd with Roger Federer an early investor. They have not reported as a public company. I wonder your thoughts on this company and can you add the ticker. I was early in FIGS and ordered some product and it is quite good. I don't want to be too early in ONON.
Q: What is the "Exchangeco" company? Does it makes sense to take the option of exchangeco shares?
From the circular:
Eligible Canadian shareholders will be able to elect to receive shares of Exchangeco (“Exchangeable Shares”) in lieu of the Penn Shares to which they would otherwise be entitled. Each whole Exchangeable Share will be exchangeable for one whole Penn Share, subject to adjustment.

Q: Hi Peter and crew. I know that US tech companies are "not in your wheel house" and I also know that you have great insight. so I am interested in your opinions on the following.
I am watching that both Rivian and Global Foundries Inc. are applying to the SEC this fall to go public. Both appear to be in a good space for long term trends/needs. I am interested in long term investing in these companies when they come to market.
Thoughts?
BTW - Peter, Loved the article in the FP about your father-in-law. Maybe the 2 above companies will give him " the action" he is looking for!

Q: Please recommend some materials or online resources that help explain stop loses.
I understand that 5i is not necessarily a fan of them but are there times when you might use one? Thank you
I appreciate your help.

Q: Hi 5i,
Will the China Evergrande Group crisis will be causing the US and Canada market in big problem? If there is any, which sectors will have most affected. Many thanks.

Q: In a normal market pull back , where do you see support levels in the tsx and the dow ?
Q: I have an interest in Circle (https://www.circle.com/en/) – expected to go public sometime before end of year.
I really like what they are doing. I have not invested in any cryptocurrencies before but believe that a stablecoin/this stablecoin is on the right track as they are working closely with regulators, are trying to be transparent….
1 – Your thoughts re this company are appreciated (if you have any background on this company).
2 – The IPO is being handled via a SPAC – with Concord Acquisition Corp. If I acquire stock in Concord (ticker symbol CND in the US) am I acquiring the equivalent of Circle ahead of its IPO? My understanding is that a SPAC can only acquire one company and if that is the case, is it the same as acquiring Circle (ahead of its IPO)?
Thank You.

Q: With the market down, Amazon looked like a possibility. When I searched for Amazon, this came up: AMAZON.COM CDR (CAD HEDGED) ( AMZN : NEO )
Could you tell me what this is? If it is legitimately Amazon, is it worth considering? Is NEO new exchange? Would it be wise to buy on NASDAQ?
Thanks
V

Q: Hi,
The recent questions on paying income tax on capital gains now, in case the inclusion rate rises, mention a 30 day buyback period. I thought this 30 day wait before repurchase was applicable to capital losses only. If I sell shares and realise a capital gain, I don't have to wait 30 days to buy the same shares back. Is this correct?
Thanks

Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. (BIP.UN)
-
Brookfield Infrastructure Corporation Class A Exchangeable Subordinate Voting Shares (BIPC)
Q: Is there an explanation of why the 4 year revenue growth is so different between BIP.UN and BIPC? Here is the data I get from RBC Direct Investing for 2017 to 2020:
BIP.UN: 3,535.0 | 4,652.0 | 6,597.0 | 8,885.0 for a 4 year CAGR of 26%
BIPC: 1,323.0 | 1,561.0 | 1,619.0 | 1,430.0 for a 4 year CAGR of 2%
Of course the amounts are going to be different, but I expected the growth to be similar between the two. Whaaaat?
Thanks.

Q: Given the recent announcement from NFI , is it time to bail out or worth a hold for long term. The stock has taken quite a huge hit this morning.. Your advice is appreciated.
Q: Good morning, since Aritzia is classified as a Consumer Cyclical where in the cycle would you say it is these days, thanks?
Q: Is this the next Canadian tech darling?
Q: Good morning 5i team
Which public companies in Canada are leaders, or emerging leaders, in carbon capture and production of CO2?
Which of these (if any) would 5i recommend for consideration for investment, and why?
Thank you
Edward

Q: A great service could please recommend your top 5 helium plays. I think if you look into it you will see a diminishing supply and an increasing demand. In interesting and growing industries microchip production, medicine and outer space. Could you let me know when you will cover this topic.
I currently like Dme, heli and RHC. Dme seems to be way ahead and an Esg type company. Keep up the great work.
