Q: TCL.A selling off pkg. business - apparently $20.00 dividend to share holders from funds from sale, yet stock still going down. What about buying this stock to reap this dividend? I would have thought that the stock would be climbing because of this news?

Q: I just saw a question on transcontinental. It seems like they are selling their packaging business, which I think they bought in 2019 as the new big thing. My question on it is whether the stock price generally falls following a payout and, if this is the case, you might not be any better off in waiting for the payout than selling now?

Q: I have noticed in recent questions that you have been ranking Savaria and tcl lower than you have in the past. I am curious as to why the change? Awhile ago you had very high hopes for these two. To a layman, the reasons still seem valid: an aging population and new vision for packaging. Please don’t see this comment as a criticism. I realise that things change. I also have esteem and a high level of confidence in 5i. I am just curious about the elements that brought about this change.

Q: Good day and happy New Year to all the 5i staff. This is my first, and hopefully last multi stock question.

I am really beginning to take Trump seriously about tariffs. His reasons don’t hold up, but I believe he has unstated reasons of his own for wanting to do so. I don’t usually jump quickly but I have a bad feeling and am thinking of selling some Canadian holdings and buying US. I am wondering what you would think of this?

Even if my fear is justified, though, some of the stocks I am considering may do well under Trump’s regime, anyway. The above stocks are the ones i am considering and i would appreciate your views on whether they might do alright under Tariffs? Any other Canadian stocks you might think will react particularly badly?

Q: The adjusted net earnings attributable to shareholders of the Corporation went from $2.19 to $2.03 (down) for the year. Net Indebtedness ratio recovered to 2.06X from 2.47X for the year. Your views after the recent quarter. Does your analysis see any further recovery in the business or indicate selling the stock at this price? Do you thing of taking advantage of this price by getting out of it?
